SO CA: I JUST FOUND OUT MY DEAR FRIEND, KAREN MARTIN HAS PASSED AWAY UNEXPECTEDLY.

Karen was a great friend to Great Dane and German Shepherd dog rescue. She and her beloved husband, Roger, picked up Danes and transported them to wherever many, many times for me. She also fostered for our local German Shepherd rescue and had a Dane of her own.

From her husband, Roger; Dear Karenโ€™s friends, This is Roger Mayer, Karenโ€˜s husband, and I unfortunately have very sad news to share. Karen passed away Sunday, March 10 from complications of cancer. She was surrounded by family. Those of you who knew Karen, knew her as a courageous and intrepid fighter, who stood her ground against a brain aneurism and breast cancer. However, the current onslaught of cancer, chemo therapy, pneumonia, and an infection from a previous surgery proved too much for her. I know this will come as a great shock to everyone, but it was mercifully fast and with minimal discomfort. She is now at peace.

THERE WILL BE A CELEBRATION OF LIFE ON SATURDAY, MAY 24TH HERE IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY. IT IS BY INVITATION ONLY. IF YOU ARE ONE OF KAREN'S FRIENDS AND WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO HER DAUGHTER, SIDO, AT [email protected] before May 5th.
