Koda
9months old
Paralyzed
Super sweet, silly, playful little guy. He would love a family who will continue to encourage him to use his cart (treats help). He loves soft blankets, fluffy beds, and feeding time. He is good with other dogs and our cat.
His cart will go with him.
Not sure what it’s like living with a paralyzed dog, try fostering!!!

We have some sad news to share Confetti the little girl puppy passed away today. She was not thriving and she was taken to our vet today to see if they could help her. Evie kept pushing her away and she wasn’t thriving despite trying to bottle feed her. Her brother is doing well and gaining weight and Mom is very attentive to him.

Meet Hera!!
We are working with our friends at New Hope Rescue, Inc. Hera has no special needs. She was a great Momma dog and her babies all found homes but no one was interested in her.
She is 3-5 old and about 45lbs
Super friendly, great with other dogs and cats. She has a lot on f energy so she will need an active family and a yard to play in.
She is fully vetted, crate trained and house broken.

We are looking for a foster or an adopter for Jinx.
He is such a great dog but he really needs a quieter home. The energy level here is starting to make him more shaky and his fly biting worse.
He would love to have a home where someone is home most of the day. He can be crated but I don’t think he would be good with a family that works long hours. He loves to be with people.
He is crate trained, housebroken, super sweet. Loves car rides, snuggles, and long walks.
He can live with cats and dogs. I would say kids over 10. He would knock over smaller kids by accident.
He is located in CT

Happy 6th birthday to Evander. Evander is one of our sanctuary dogs. After 3 failed adoptions we realized that people were not understanding his needs. It took almost 4yrs for him to finally settle. He was bred to be a working dog but he was born deaf and discarded like trash. . He took to herding Quote and that makes him very happy. He is now happy to greet all new people with lots of hugs.

We had a rough night but Evie finally decided at about 5am that she was ready to be a momma again.
I want to send a huge Thank you to Dr. Alisa Grace H. Jaroszynski and the staff at Stone Veterinary Hospital. They rallied together yesterday to make sure Evie’s surgery went smoothly and that pups were safely delivered.

Please welcome Reso (resolution) the male and Confetti the female pup. Evie had to have a c-section this afternoon. The male was just too large for her to deliver naturally. Everyone is doing well right now.

Between Delmas surgery ( she did well) and an emergency c-section we won’t turn away any donations to help cover costs.

Delma is being spayed and having Gastropexy today. When we had a pre surgical check up her X-rays showed how large her esophagus has gotten as she gets bigger. She has developed a pocket that catches some of her food. Luckily she isn’t showing any signs that this is bothering her. She eats great, no vomiting or regurgitating.

Koda getting some cart time inside today. It’s been so cold outside the last few days and he hates the cold. Mornings are a good time since everyone is pretty chill. He still isn’t a big fan of his cart but he is getting better and better.

I love all the ears ❤️

Our Story

This page is to educate people about dogs who are born deaf, blind, physical impairments and neurological issues. We are here to provide help and support to people who have dogs with special needs. We rescue, rehabilitate provide medical care and rehome special needs dogs. Trisha one of the administrators to this page recently had to say good bye to one of her special needs dogs. Theresina was a double merle aussie who was born deaf and partially blind. She suffered from aggression conflict disorder. Unfortunately she was conflicted about almost everything in her world. She only lived to be 4 1/2yrs old. Trisha is the proud owner of 7 deaf dogs. Kiefer who is deaf, Zephyr's Hope who is a double merle who is deaf and partially blind, Gideon who is deaf, Quote who is deaf and has hyper bonding issues, and Leo who is deaf and suffers from complex seizure disorder. Poe a DM Aussie,Ophelia who is a double merle and is deaf and visually impaired, Twain a border collie with cerebellar Hypoplasia
