WILLOW 🤍
You might remember me as so many of you were supportive of me and my babies. My little girls have moved on to their own lives and I must do the same now.

I am approximately 3 years young. I have been spayed and am ready to go! Look at how beautiful am and how well I am doing!

I didn’t get much training in my former life so I don’t know a lot of commands but I am more than willing to learn and to please. I love getting attention from my foster mom and anyone else I meet. I am a very sweet girl.

Now that I’m not raising babies anymore I can just be me. I am learning what it is like to play and be a bit mischievous at times. It is nice to be able to do that.

I have done well with my bathroom duties while in foster so when I move on to a new home I should train up easily in that department. I will need obedience training and some work on leash training.

I have been tested with other dogs and did much better with females but it will be important to introduce me and see how it goes.

MEET CALLIOPE 🖤
estimated to be about 5 years young, sadly I was used for breeding and then dumped at a shelter. Luckily I landed in a shelter that has helped get me into rescue.

I’m not only a beautiful girl but have a beautiful soul to match! I am sweet and loving and playful.

I am not overly fond of male dogs right now but do ok with females. I would need to have safe introducions to see who I do best with.

More information will be posted about me as the volunteers get to know me better.

This is our sweet Esther and she is still looking for the perfect home. My name is Esther and I am 6 weeks old. My sister Sara(pended for adoption) and I are the daughters of Willow. We are doing great all because of God answering prayers and bringing us help!
I am a very sweet girl and pretty tolerant of my bratty sister Sara. Sometimes she pushes me though and then I give her a puppy punch out! I love to be held and adored.
I need to go to a home with prior recent young Doberman(or like breed experience) and my new family must have the patience to deal with all things puppy! Obedience training will also be needed.
I am going to grow up to be like my sweet momma. I already look like her.

DRON Alum Stories: From Starvation to Service – Zach’s Rescue Story as Told by His Mom

Hi I’m Zach.

Life for me began in a backyard without much care and with very little food. When I was transported into rescue, I only weighed 50 lbs.! My health had taken a turn for the worse and if the people had not gotten me to rescue, I likely would not be alive today. I arrived sick and heartworm positive. It was a long road to recovery but I was so happy to be loved and fed that my spirit renewed and I fought my way back to good health.

In the process of all of my healthcare I met my foster Mom. She took me home and introduced me to my foster sister Sugar. Sugar and I loved each other very much. She was such a sweet girl and appropriately named. My foster mom had just lost her Mobility dog and was really hurting. I would lay by her and put my head in her lap and try to tell that everything was going to be all right. I began to sense her physical pain as well as the pain of her loss and kept trying to tell her that I could help.

One day the time came and I got adopted. My foster mom had great reservations about letting me go but she wanted me to have a big family. It was a very tearful departure but off I went…but not for long.

One day my foster mom got a call saying I needed to come back into the rescue as I just wasn’t working out with my new family. I was too much to handle. She came quickly to bring me back to her home and told me that Sugar and herself had cried over me every night that they missed their handsome boy. She realized it didn’t work out for a reason and decided that she wasn’t letting me get away again so she adopted me! All things happen for a reason.

She started teaching me things like” stay,” “wait,” “heel,” “brace,” and “pull!” She signed us up for a class with a trainer and we had to do extra homework because the class had already started. This was what I had been trying to tell her all along that I could help her! She finally got my message! I loved working with her and assisting her. One day she told me I needed to take a test. I wasn’t sure what that meant but I trusted her completely.

You know what happened? I took that class and aced that test in 4 weeks verses 6!

The only thing that’s hard to handle about me is my looks but what can I say? When you’ve got it, you’ve got it!!!

I was once lost left in a yard dying of Heart-worm and starvation. Now I am a Mobility Dog! I help my mom with all kinds of things and have a fan club at the office to boot. It is so great to serve her and help her and know that I am loved. Every day my tank is chock full of love and I get plenty of food too. Life is good!

I am no longer in bo***ge to starvation and disease - I’m free!

Mom loves to use my story when she tells people about how Jesus can save us and set us free. There is a plan for every life and sometimes it is different than what we thought it might be.

My name is Zachariah my name means- God Remembers. He certainly remembered me!

MEET AMOS 💙
At around 2-3 years young this handsome all natural blue boy has so much to offer! He may not be as famous as the cookie he sure is sweet! 🍪

Unfortunately Amos was abandoned and dumped by the ones he loved and called a family. He was left in the middle of nowhere to fend for himself. Imagine the fear and confusion, but thankfully he was safely found and has made his way to our rescue. He’s made it to Nebraska and ready to experience The Good Life! ☀️🐮

This Blue color gives him a decent coat, but could use some TLC 🫧🧽

He’s eager to play with other dogs 🐕🎾
But has not met any cats yet 🐈❓

He proved to be a model passenger in the car and pretty well on the leash, so we can tell he is serious for some companionship 🚙👟

QUINN - REST IN PEACE.

Sometimes we can't bring you happy stories. This time we share a heart wrenching one.

Quinn was a happy 3-month-old puppy without a care in the world but his owners often allowed him to run loose. Life changed abruptly for him when he went out in front of a vehicle and was ran over. No one came to claim him. He was put in a shelter and after no one reclaimed him we activated an emergency relay to bring him to our rescue from quite a distance.

We were told Quinn had one broken leg but it turned out to be much worse than that. His one rear leg had an open fracture that had become severely infected and to make matters worse, the other rear leg was also badly broken along with a broken rib.
There was this sweet soul, injured and left like garbage by his family. We took him in and fell in love with him. He was so precious. He wanted to live and was fighting for it but his injuries were too great.

He suffered more than anyone should ever have to suffer and, in the end, nothing could save him and we had to let him go. I can still hear his screams due to the pain he was in. Someone threw him away like trash but we were loving and merciful to him to the end. We will never forget our sweet angel and miss him so very much but he is at peace.

The rescue spent just over $1000 fighting for his life. We desperately tried to save him. He was worth every cent. It’s what we do. We tell you this story because it is the reality of rescue and sometimes people wonder why the rescue always needs money. This is why.

We put ourselves out there to help a suffering soul. To be honest, this was an incredibly painful loss to all of us here. Your prayers are appreciated as we heal. We would do it again. He was worth it. He knew he was loved – not a piece of trash to throw away. We will also never forget the kisses and snuggles he gave to us and our vet staff who took care of him. Thank you to our vets and their staff and to all of our volunteers who rallied for this life.

Please, never let your dogs run loose. He was just a baby. He never stood a chance.

For Quinn and the other precious souls we get, we continue. Our hearts are heavier but a little angel watches over us, urging us on to save one more….hold on baby….we are coming…us and our team of supporters who make it all possible….

Quinn, we love you and we always will...

Happy second adoptaversary to Finn, formally Red. From his adopter: Finn came to me a shy, troubled boy and is now a lovely confident pup. He loves attention, playing with his big brother who is also a DRON alumni, and just hanging around.

Esther and Sara had their first taste of food other than mother's milk 2 days ago. Look at our healthy chubby girls. Sara (the blue one) is pended for adoption. Esther, who is just like her mama is still waiting. They truly are a miracle.

MEET HENNY 🩶
Coming to us at just 3 years young, this striking solid boy wants all of your attention

It’s important for Henny to establish a committed bond with his future companion, he has wanted nothing more than to feel safe and have a family 🏡 He is people friendly but will be protective.

🐕 Henny would do very well in a home as an only dog but would be best with a FEMALE dog my own size to play with.

🎾 He would chase the ball if allowed and loves to play fetch. So ensure you can play with me so I can get my enrichment and burn off energy

👟🚗Could use some more leash manners / training as well as with car rides. It makes him nervous and currently he does better if the window is down for him.

📚Henny’s future family must have current younger Doberman experience and be willing to take him to training. He is highly intelligent and eager to learn and please!

AJ 💙
Our sweet AJ came into our rescue earlier this Spring and is hoping to find a loving home this summer! ☀️🏡

He’s estimated to be between 3-5 years young and an all natural boy which just means he comes with more to love including his full tail, which he loves to chase 🐕

He’s so playful, friendly and would be best with a match that can keep him active and provide a positive outlet for that energy ⚡️🎾

Like any new dog, AJ will need and deserves plenty of training and patience by you. And the commitment to put in the time, effort and patience to work with me while I learn 📚🏠

Just an update: Keep praying! The puppies and Willow saw the vet today. First of all , Willow's fracture is healing nicely but she still has residual pneumonia and it has caused her not to produce enough milk. Esther and Sara were weighed today. The vet feels they were born a bit premature. We are continuing bottle feeding and fluids. Hope is glimmering. Please pray for this little family. They are fighting so hard and we applaud our foster mom who is working so hard to take care of them. She is such a blessing!

We need a lot of prayers for Willow and her babies. We lost Leroy during the night and the babies are apparently not getting enough nutrition from Willow although she is trying her best. We are giving Esther and Sara fluids and bottle feeding. Willow is getting healthier but all that this little family went through is catching up. Please continue to pray for this little family and for all of us too as this is very hard. Foster mom is doing an outstanding job but we need miracles. Thank you.🩷🌷🙏😢

MEET TESS 💜
a beautiful blue female about 5-6 years young. This sweet girl was abandoned and found wearing a sweater and a harness and taken to a shelter. Nobody showed up for her. She’s a more petite girl with a big loving heart. 💖

🩺 While shy and standoffish at first, after she arrived to our rescue our vet found dental issues due to severe neglect resulting in some teeth being pulled. Those had to have been so painful.

🎀She’s a brand new girl now, full of life and play! She has a beautiful soul that matches her unique and striking features and a heart that longs for a forever family to love.

Tess is what we call a “Velcro dog” and will attach quickly to her new family and owner. She is longing for love and stability.

🐱🐶 Tess did ok with the cat test and cat she was introduced to and would love a canine companion to share life with.
