At 11:59 on Friday, I had no plans for markets until November 17th. Drax was at daycare and I was working on website stuff and stocking stores. It had been about a month since my last market so I was really trying to get online stuff up and running. October was as slow as January for me, and I've already been denied for a few markets this holiday season. Worry has been heavy.
And then, at noon on Friday, a last minute spot came up for Re:craft & Relic which started at 9AM Saturday. Completely unprepared, I almost said no. I didn't have enough product for a one day market, let alone 2 days in a row. But, something was telling me to say yes and figure it out.
So, I called Drax's daycare, asked if he could just stay there the whole weekend, replied yes to the email and sent over a booth fee, rushed to the fabric store for bow guts (secret part inside bow ties), rushed to the pet store for food for drax for the next few days, ran it over to central bark Tosa where I also dropped off some stock, rushed over to set up for Re:craft, then rushed home and sewed all evening. Saturday, I ran entirely out of medium holiday collars. I'm super sorry if you missed one! After market day 1, I rushed home (lots of rushing this weekend 😂), ate, and got right back to sewing from 5-10:15. This morning, I woke up early to make a few extra bandanas before heading back to the market to open my booth. Under 60 hours ago, I thought my weekend would be building my website and updating my Etsy while worrying that November would be like October. Tonight, I picked my boy up, came home, and with almost 100 products sold we're gonna sleep a little more peacefully tonight. He's already snoring, and I might put my plans to work on the website on the back burner early and crash too. Thank you everyone. Long time shoppers, new people, customers who have become friends, all of ya.

Little late on this because so many things are somehow still up in the air and I'm a last minute (honestly. Like... Less than 24 hours' notice last minute) addition to Re:Craft & Relic. 🥳
Happy novemmmbeerrrrr and welcome to holiday shopping season!

"Why don't we talk politics" in map form.
As a human, of course I have views. As a business, you won't see them. The reason is pretty simple: I make dog stuff, and dogs don't understand any of that. no matter where you stand on the "issues," if you dig dogs, you're in the right place.
So today, hug on your dogs (if they like hugs, of course) and take a breath. ☺️
(Ps I know dogs can see some color. The results still mean nothing to them and if the map were paper, drax would probably p*e on it)

How I feel with the recent responses to my product post.
Bows are the OG of the business. My mission to pay Drax's medical bills started with making (albeit terrible) bows in hopes my family would buy them out of pity. I started making (also terrible) collars a year and a halfishy after bows were perfected. And even since those absolutely terrible collars on the webbing that warped in the sun with the unwelded D rings and skipping a loop in the buckle, I've been taking pictures of collars with bows on them.
Both collars and bows have long been perfected: I am very confident in saying you won't find another bow and collar like mine, so I'm pretty dang happy with the responses from the recent posting of collar and bow combinations and super excited to get them ready to go online, but the combow (see what I did there) pictures have "literally been here the whole time." 😉
So if it's your first time seeing pictures of bows and collars I think would go great together, we're just gonna blame the algorithm. Also, I'm glad you're here.

Imagine being scared of Drax when this is his attack stance.
But, real question: when online starts back up, should we make the beaded necklaces available?

I know, I know. There's shadows on the picture.
Don't care. I don't pay my marketer (me) enough to expect good photography. Orrrrr I'm busy sewing and just wanted to snap these real quick.
The cheese tax picture was a hit and people said they wanted to see some combinations already put together to take away the guess work. So, here they are! All of these guys plus cheese tax AND a WI badger themed design will be available soon. ☺️ Stay tuned!

Ok you spooky weirdos. Do we need these? 👻🎄

Ok! The response to these was waayyyyy more than I expected. I thought I was just using products i already make to remind people that I don't do licensed stuff.
But then....
It's like y'all never saw them before! I don't mean that in a bad way either. I just wasn't expecting so many requests for them. So, this morning before I went to treat patients, I ordered some more fabric and I'm having it rush shipped to me. I also ordered some badger faces for collars with a red and white Wisconsin bow. They'll go online once I get a few holiday things ready to drop. I'll announce it when they're ready!
In other news... We trademarked Dog Goods for Good Dogs. 😎🥳

**EDIT** I've been doing cheese tax for well over a year in multiple product types (collars, martingales, bandies, harnesses...) and I've done the state prints since way back when covid had us doing pop ups outdoors in people's yards. I just had cheese tax on Etsy so long I took it down for not selling and took them to in person events (where of course they sold out). The only reason I had these specific products available to take this picture is because I put them in a Facebook sale and they didn't sell.
I don't know why this post is getting the response that it is, and I'm happy about it for sure, but I hadn't planned on needing to put these online again for all the reasons listed above. With the spike in interest from this post, I'll order more fabric when it's in the budget and get them online :)

Quick reminder/PSA: we don't make or sell ANY licensed products without authorization and it is ✨illegal✨ for any small business to do so.
Yes, they know it. The selvage of the fabric even says so. There's no way to not see it when you're cutting fabric.
I have big feelings about it that might make people mad: if you have to illegally sell licensed products, you're doing something wrong. Plus, that ish is everywhere. Seems like almost every dog bandana maker in the area is selling the same few prints of the area sports teams. There are more ways to show your team pride. When's the last time you saw a cheese tax collector collar with a coordinating Wisconsin bow? 🧀 😎

Take 2 because people felt sorry for Drax in the video I posted last night, which I've decided to include to provide video evidence of why we call him Drama City Drax. He answers to the name "drama". He wasn't sad, he just wanted to be outside and he's impatient. 😂 Nobody feel bad for this dog.

Anybody else? 🤣

3 markets in 2 days: ✅
Arrived for my first one yesterday before 8:30AM yesterday and got home from my last one at 5:30PM tonight. That means in a 24 hour time frame (1PM-1PM) I had been actively selling at 3 different markets and I'm one human.
Picked DraxyFBaby up from boarding and this is the best picture we could manage to get. As 2 halves of one whole idi*t (it's a star so FB doesn't grouch at me) we'd like to thank all of you for supporting our business. We're going to bed. Catch ya later. ☺️🐶

...and they're all good dogs. 🥹🐶
Need help fitting a harness? Bring me your dogs. I gotchu. They're so adjustable that one of these dogs is in a large and one is in a medium. Big huge thank you to everyone who shopped this weekend, the Steenos for having me at their fall locally made pop-up and for having me at Raytoberfest today.
And now... Time to order more harness fabric ☺️

Drax The Destroyer

Drax is a 2 year old rescue mutt who was born in a shelter, part of a litter of 12. Adopted at 8 weeks old, Drax has shown signs of allergies since he was tiny. He requires an anti-itch shot monthly as well as medications/supplements, limited ingredient foods, and immunotherapy treatments. Your purchase goes directly toward these items so Drax can live his best life.
