Less than a month ago, business was quite literally going under water. As the floods got dangerous, we were told to close up at the fair and go home. The flood waters were too high for me to put my products in my wagon and wheel them out, and it was raining too hard for me to try and carry anything out, so I closed those tent walls and walked away from everything I've put my entire heart into building, hoping it would still be there under the grandstands the next day.
It was there, but it was yucky and things were ruined. If you saw my recent stories, even my bungee cords grew mold and they weren't down in the flood waters. It was hard to find the desire to start over and sew a whole new inventory, but Friday and Saturday reminded me what we've got here.
To new customers, thank you for giving me a chance. To all the returning customers, thank you for getting me through this heartbreaking/soul crushing few weeks. I've cleaned, sanitized, and painted racks. I've made soooo many products. I need a new checkout stand because mine is splitting from absorbing the water, but we'll get that figured out too.
There are still multiple markets in September and I'm feeling excited for what this month could bring. Thank you.

To reiterate:
We are not man haters. Most of our demographic is female, but we do have a solid male customer base and they're great!
But, every single time I've heard someone call my products 💩 while pulling their S/O out of my booth, it's a dude.
So, no, we definitely *do not* dislike men! But if you're trying to tell your lady she can't get something, SCRAM! 🤣

Kind of sad considering it all got washed away and ruined with about $5,000 in estimated losses, but before there was a flood and heartbreak, there was a really excited millennial in her first ever double booth filming a corny episode of DTV Cribs (the D is for Drax, I know it's MTV cribs) and since you always film before the episode airs regardless, I'm gonna go ahead and share it.
Not an award winning booth again this year. I was told I *almost* got one, but maybe my winner ribbon would have been ruined in the mess anyway. I'll try again next year.

Side note: business insurance doesn't typically cover flooding. So I can't just recoup those losses. What's gone is gone. Things that sat in the water overnight are probably done. Flood water is💩 water. Keep that in mind.
I do have a market scheduled for this weekend, and I'm gonna do my absolute best to show up with inventory.
