Little Ms. Addilyn got to see her first field trial and watch her dogs compete and she even got to receive the ribbons at the end. She was a trooper all day and was very fun to hang out with, and it was all worth it at the end!! Thanks for coming to hang out with me yesterday!! 2023 Derby National!! The 2023 Derby National was another great event. First and foremost thank you to Mr. Bob Hayden and family for the use of your beautiful property and generous hospitality. Thank you to all the people that put countless hours and days to put this event on.
Thank you John Lynch for organizing our training areas and our training group. I had a blast training with y’all and watching all your dogs compete. John and I have pre-national trained together the last two years - it was a great time as always buddy! Congratulations to all the Finalists.

The Derby National was a great event to be a part of as always. Congratulations to Kelly Petricka and Brent Jones of Quick Trigger Kennels (Pine City, MN) for having two dogs qualified. Unfortunately we had to scratch Storm due to injury before the trial started. Blaze ended up going 5 series, going out on a tough hen pheasant flyer. She is a great dog and has a bright future. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her!

Robbie’s Bio

I started my field trial career as an Amateur in 2005 having success at all levels of the field trial game. I started working with Jason and Baker Retrievers in the summer of 2015 training the young dogs from 6-14 months of age. As of January 1st, 2018, I started Tall Pines Retrievers, doing the basics for Baker Retrievers. My goal is to give the puppies the best start possible to get them ready for the next level of their training and keeping a positive attitude.

I grew up in the small town of Benson in West Central Minnesota, being an avid outdoorsman; hunting pheasant, duck and deer. I always had a lab with me pheasant and duck hunting and that turned into a passion of training Retrievers that has now grown into a profession. My wife Mikki and I have 3 children Hunter, Tyson, and Britain and I have a daughter Bailey and a grandson Kyler.
