Okay Everyone….

I’m doing something I swore I would never do. Let me start off by saying I love my babies like no other. When you love something so much, you want what’s best for them, and sometimes what’s best for them isn’t you.

Cypress. My last little baby ever from Cali will be turning a year old August 12th. She is searching for a new home. The moment she was born, I claimed her. She was mine, my little snuggly bundle of chocolate. The older Cypress gets, the more I realize no matter how much I love her… she deserves better, and taking over her mamas role is not in her cards.

Cypress- is a burst of energy, she loves to be with someone all the time. She loves to cuddle, loves to lay in bed, can let you pet her until your arm falls off. She does snore like a grown man, LOL. She is calm when need be, and will definitely let you know when she needs to go out. She is very alert to her surroundings, and will let you know if someone or something is outside or out of place. When I kept Cypress, I was working from home… never left the house unless I was on vacation, and we had a sitter here until we got back. Since then, life has changed… I have started school, working full time, and we are barely home. My other babies are lazy, and couldn’t care less if i’m here as long as they are in a bed. I’ve noticed Cypress on the other hand, is not like that. She doesn’t have separation anxiety, she’s just used to someone being home other than just to sleep. She is house trained, and kennel trained. When we are not home, she is kenneled because like any other almost 1 year old, she isn’t out of some of those stages yet. I have put this off since May hoping it would change, because I couldn’t imagine her going to someone else but when you know, you know.

Ideal home for Cypress: An older home, someone who is retired or is not gone from home long during the day OR a home with kids where she can have kids to play with as much as her heart desires. She LOVES kids, unfortunately I do not have any of my own to wear her out. She loves cats and other dogs, so multi animal home is not an issue. She has been around small dogs, her size dogs, and horse size dogs.. However, SHE CANNOT BE AROUND CHICKENS/DUCKS, anything that flies is a NO GO. She is UTD on shots, her yearly is scheduled for the end of this month. Her parents are both health tested and cleared, and she has no medical issues.

Stipulations - Cypress is AKC registered, but she will NOT go to a breeding home and will come with limited registration. We want her to be placed as a PET ONLY home to be loved and fattened the rest of her life and be someone’s best companion. We will have a contract where adopter agrees to have her fixed after the age of 2. I will not let her go to just anyone, I will keep her before I let her just go. Adopter MUST agree to keep us updated and if anything EVER was to change where they can no longer keep her, she is to be returned back to us unless an agreement between us is arranged.

We still have two GREAT DANE boys looking for forever homes. They were born April 9th, 2024 so they are ready when you are. They are up to date on shots, wormed, vet checked & cleared and both parents are on site. They do not have papers but are full blooded. I am 5’7, both parents standing on their back legs are taller than me. Parents do not like water, but their puppies LOVE water. These will be BIG dogs. This is a ONE time thing, and we will NEVER have another litter. Mom is scheduled to spayed next month. We never intended on getting a female, my dream was to have my male and I was surprised with the female and multiple people asked for us to breed one time.

Mom - Black/White looks identical as smaller boy who is pictured with the most white. She is the most calmest and gentle dog I have ever owned. She LOVES to sleep in the bed, be cuddled, and give shakes.
Dad - Harlequin (looks almost like a Dalmatian) He is full of s***k, and LOVES to argue with someone. He is very vocal. He ONLY barks when he sees/hears something suspicious.

Great Danes are known as the “best apartment” dogs as they are very calm and love to be lazy. They are considered “gentle giants”. Some say life expectancy isn’t long, 9 or so years, but we have known/seen otherwise.

We have a couple spots open for obedience or gun dog training. We also now offer boarding in our new climate controlled indoor kennels for $25 per day.

Last baby available out of Lacey x Hatch litter. She is ready July 27. Dudley yellow female, AKC registered (limited or full), wormed, UTD on shots, and socialized with many animals.

Happy 4th of July everyone! We will return home Sunday, and will get with everyone acquiring about babies. Bambi is a product of Bella x Gauge born 3/31/2023. We are beyond excited to see how she fulfills our program, she’s got some big shoes to fill!

Update on Gauge:

They said surgery went good. My sister brought him by to visit me at work and he definitely was happy, wagging his tail, and WANTED to stay with his mama. (Definitely loving the neck brace the vet picked hahaha) As far as we know, they were able to save his testicles and we will know in the future as long as he does not get any infections. BUT, after being hit by the car he has absolutely no other damage other than road rash. Thank you all soooooo much for all the prayers, this is one happy mama and I cannot wait to get home from work and give him all the lovings!!

Good afternoon everyone. As many of you know, some do not.. we were out of town for father’s day and 2 of our babies got out with our sitter. We searched and searched from 9am-after dark Monday and yesterday morning they turned back up. Cypress turned up okay, Gauge however was hit by a car. We are beyond blessed for all the shares, kind words, and prayers for the return of Gauge and Cypress and the health of Gauge. With that being said, we’d like to update everyone on the status of Gauge. As of right now, they have not determined any injuries other than his testicle and road rash. They are not sure if they can save his testicles so, he may not be able to breed anymore. We are not concerned about him breeding anymore as long as he is healthy and alive. Gauge has produced many successful litters and has made many of families complete with his offspring. He is staying overnight and is in surgery right now. We will keep everyone updated as soon as they call and let us know the status and results. Pray our boy can continue blessing families with our bloodline. Again, thank you everyone!

And just like that, after making me worry and stress.. Lacey delivered 13 beautiful babies yesterday and finished early this morning. Mama is wore out and relaxing now.

She was still in the yard but made her way under the concrete. False alarm, thank you guys. I was FREAKING out.

**REWARD IF FOUND**

We had a mama dog get out the fence this morning where our goats made a hole and is missing. We have searched and searched for her.

We know someone has picked her up at this point, and we’d like to bring her home. She is due anyday now with puppies.

We are just as surprised as you guys probably are. Brynn and Gauge have tricked us and surprised us with 3 babies. Two Fox Red Girls and 1 Yellow boy.

✨ Life Update ✨
I know it’s been awhile since we’ve posted or interacted but we thought it was time to give everyone an update. Most of you know my father passed away beginning of February, and then shortly after his dad (my grandfather) passed as well the middle of this month. 2024 has not been good to us but we are still making the best of it. We rescued two baby squirrels we are bottle feeding every few hours. We also have a •ONE TIME• announcement. We will have GREAT DANE babies in less than 4 weeks.

Effingham Retrievers family and friends, as we grow and have babies starting to go multiple states away, it was only in our best interest we hire someone to help us full time. Help me welcome to our crew, . Jordan started helping us back in November for fun and she was such a big help we decided to make it official. She rides along to help smooth transportations, birthing babies so I can have a little sleep, washing babies, cleaning kennels/whelping areas, and even down to the nasty p**p cleaning. We want to thank Jordan for all the help she has done so far and cannot thank her enough for the future! Let’s help welcome her as she could have/or could be helping with your baby!! 🫶🏽🤍

ONE more flight and we will be home guys! We have stopped at our last place before taking off to Myrtle Beach. We have enjoyed ourselves, but I am ready to get back to my babies. I have been still active responding to everyone, and will get up to date with everyone as I can before take off again. Thank you guys!

Built this pen tonight for the babies to have room to stretch their legs, and to keep them in a closed in area because they are into everything!!! One boy is leaving tomorrow to his new home, so only two boys are left searching for homes!!

I couldn’t wait to post this update from Mason Jeans on one of our previous pups, Rexton! Photos are in the comment, but please watch him whispering!! This is awesome!
