Daily reminder: it's more than okay to take care of YOU, especially right now.
What you're doing is enough, and what you're doing is making an impact on our community. Even if that is taking a pause and taking care of yourself.
Life has brought us all many changes and challenges, including our day to day life being quite different than before Helene.
As a result, our dogs' daily routines have shifted.
If it's felt hard lately to get your dogs out for their regular exercise or scheduled potty breaks, you're not alone.
Comment 'PET' if you could use some help finding some normalcy with your pet's routines💜

Not sure where to start when picking out chews for your dog? We've got you!
Let's skip these...
🦌 Antlers due to splintering
🙈 Raw Hides due to GI upset and risk of blockages
Safe and Natural dog chews we recommend 👇
🍖 Raw bones
🦴 No hide dog chews
These are all easily digestible and healthy for your dog to consume!
Always supervise your dog while consuming chews to make sure they don't try swallowing a piece that is too big.

This is a LIFE CHANGER for busy and out of town dog moms🔥
Auntie M Dog Training is growing and expanding into VIRTUAL training.
We will continue to offer in person training. However, this opportunity is the perfect opportunity for dog moms on the go and our dog mom friends who don't live in the greater Asheville and surrounding areas.
Virtual training offers several benefits:
✨ Convenience. Train your dog from the comfort of your own home and in an environment where your trainer can observe your dog in their natural state without the distraction of an expertly trained visitor.
✨ Flexibility. Schedule sessions that fit your busy lifestyle and can be done from anywhere. If you have a busy schedule, you're traveling, split your time between locations, or if you and your partner are in different locations, this is a great option for you!
✨ Hands-On Learning. Without your trainer physically taking the leash, you learn to work with your dog directly, building your confidence and skills more effectively, as you receive coaching customized to meet you and your dog’s specific needs and goals.
✨ Consistency. Maintain a regular training routine, even if you're traveling or have a busy schedule.
✨ Recorded Sessions. You will receive a link to rewatch your sessions at any time. This is helpful if you want a refresher or reminder of what your trainer said during your sessions.
Curious if virtual dog training is right for you and your dog?
Comment VIRTUAL and we'll chat with you about it in the DMs 😍

If you view crate time as punishment in a cage, this is for you…
There are many negative connotations with the word crate which is understandable, because crates have been marketed to us as cages in the past.
We understand the stigma.
What if you took the approach of RESPECTING the crate?
It becomes a part of the daily routine and becomes similar to saying something as simple as “sit.”
Imagine it being something that you do throughout the day because you’re NOT associating it ONLY when you leave.
3 EASY steps to begin changing your mindset about the crate
✨Set the mood
Feed your dog there, and make it a comfy, cozy, fun, and safe place to be. So they absolutely LOVE their time in the crate and their have a space where they can full REST without any worrying about anything else. Honestly, that sounds nice, right?!
✨ Frequency matters, especially in the beginning
Implement it frequently in the beginning, anywhere from 3 to 6 times a day, in short little increments, and work up to four hours.
✨ Ground yourself before you engage
It all matters what energy that you put behind it (i.e. positive & happy association). If you put negative energy (forcing them in, not rewarding them for being there, poor location, not a safe space) behind it, then that's what they're going to feel from it.
YOU decide if it's a punishment or not. If you decide it's not a punishment, then YOU CAN make it a positive thing that will benefit everyone in the long run.

GI Stasis is when something in your rabbit’s intestines have caused things to slow down or stop moving or everything through their GI tract. Somewhere along the way, something has happened, and digestion is no longer progressing.
😢 It’s a potentially fatal condition, so it’s important to be educated on the topic. When you notice signs of GI stasis it’s important to act quickly because your bunny could die if nothing is done about it.
Sometimes rabbits will keep eating because they don’t know there is something wrong yet. When they do this, they can get packed full of food, which makes the situation worse. It's important that you know how to advocate for them.
This can be caused by many things…
🚫 Ingesting a foreign object
⚡️Eating too fast
😩 Stress
There is also a risk that their intestines could flip or get wrapped around each other. Everything can go wrong, so you want to monitor them closely to make sure everything is moving through their Gi tract successfully.
How to identify if your rabbit is experiencing GI stasis⬇️
If you walk in and notice that your rabbit is…
🥴 Not eating or has a decreased appetite
😴 Especially lethargic
😬 Grinding their teeth
These are things to be on the lookout for, and if you see any of these signs you can offer them a high value treat to get a better idea of how they’re feeling.
Examples ⤵️
🫐 Freeze-dried blueberries
💐 Dried flowers
If they aren’t interested, then you will want to call your vet for the next steps.
Note- It’s also important to know how much is too much with those high value treats. Fruits have high sugar content, so they can only have a small amount of them.

Let’s make this a seamless experience together 💙
When Bode’s mom and dad were visiting Black Mountain, they reached out to us to care for him while they were away for a 5-hour appointment.
His parents love him sooo much, so they wanted him to have a safe and fun experience while they were away while staying in a new place. So they booked a hike and extended hourly care for us to hang out with Bode!
Bode is an awesome 1 year old Vizsla with loads of energy and who has been professionally trained, so he was really good on a day full of hiking and adventures with our team member, Tian’s doggos.
When visiting WNC with your dog, try any of these options with us:
🐾 Dog walk or hike
Neighborhood walks that start at 30 minutes. 1 or 2 hours on a nearby trail that is favorited by the locals
🐾 Pet Sitting Visits
Starting at 30min and fully customizable to your pets needs and desires
🐾 Custom hourly pet care
Visits longer than one hour while you’re at an appointment, at dinner, or visiting the Biltmore for the day.
Bode's parents opted for a 2hr dog hike plus 3hrs of custom hourly pet care so he wouldn't even blink at his parents being away. They are moving to WNC soon, and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship and supporting them in their big move!
