FYI

‼️Potomac Horse Fever cases are on the rise! We have seen a few cases the last couple of weeks and other vets in our area are reporting the same. We see PHF cases every fall but previously it was more common to see them later in the year, around the time of fall vaccines. So this year, we recommend getting your fall vaccines done early (in July) so that your horse is covered. Give us a call to schedule! 610-588-9467

An amazing story.
Age 26 is not old for a horse.
This horse reminds me of trooper.

The rider is 66 and the horse is 26. Together, they competed up the levels of dressage to Prix St. Georges.

WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE ADDITION OF A NEW TEAM MEMBER TO OUR IGF TEAM OF INSTRUCTORS. BEGINNING TOMORROW, TUES JULY 9TH, JOIN US IN WELCOMING TERI TO OUR TEAM!!

ABOUT TERI:
Teri grew up on New York’s Long Island. She started riding at age 6 and continued riding until present. While on Long Island she rode Hunter Seat Equitation and jumpers. For several years she was given summer camp horses to keep at her home over the winter to ride and show. Later with several of her own horses, she was fortunate to train with Virginia Rice, Mary O’Rourke, Harry DeLeyer, at Thomas’s School of Horsemanship, and later with Linda Thomas Bateman at Equitation Lodge. In her adult life she rode with Scott Minetto whose clients gave her horses to train and compete. She was Grand Champion Orange County Pleasure Horse 1990 with Superb, owned by Bill and Gale Brugeman. It was Carol Kuehnert Seaman who sparked her interest and love of dressage on one of the horses that Gale gifted to her. As her horse got older she did “flat work” for BJ Ehrhardt on her jumpers and even dabbled a short while with Side Saddle. Additionally, Vanessa Krikava, Beth Sproule and Kate Theallet helped her improve her dressage skills on their horses who were young, recently being brought back into work, or school masters to brush up and improve her own skills.

Teri professional career has been in Healthcare. She started her training at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center and went on to Manhatten College for a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration. She just recently retired after 33years as Administrator of Ridgewood Orthopedic Group, a division of OrthoNJ, in Bergen County NJ.

Help/Ideas Needed:
We are looking for ideas for DAY TRIPS for my daughter with special needs and I to enjoy. (End of July and 1st week in August). She is mobile and enjoys going pretty much anywhere but especially likes shows, live bands / concerts, restaurants, outdoor play and events, sports, racecars, go-karts, trains, rides, carnivals, etc. etc.
We would like to stay fairly local within an hour and 20 minutes from our location at Iron Gate Farm.
We have already done the following prev: been to Lancaster many times, and have gone to the America on Wheels museum in Allentown , several train shows but probably not all, train ride in pburg, have done New Hope many times, a couple local carnivals this year, fireworks, lots of horseback riding, visited several herb farms and lavendar farms, Jersey shore, Quiet Living Historical Farm, the zoos in the poconos, and have a pocono raceway event coming up and plans to go to Musikfest .
WHAT ELSE can we go and do or visit or see in the LEHIGH VALLEY, EASTON, SLATE BELT, POCONOS, AND NORTHWEST NJ areas?
