Update! We are fine here. Just a lot of rain and some wind. We do have trees down across our road, we will get that cleaned up as soon as it is safe to do so.

Small things that we don’t think about as humans, walking around your dog. It doesn’t seem like much from our perspective to tell our dogs to down and expect them to stay they as we walk around, but for the dog it can be harder than we think. In the video Louie is working on staying in a down, holding back his excitement, watching where and what Sierra is doing, waiting for another command, waiting for reward, testing boundaries, all while trying to do the right thing. We see it as something simple but that doesn’t always mean it is for the dog. Try to take a step back and see things on their level, start with small expectations and make big rewards for small strides.
