Aurora and her four little babies Gingersnap, Bisquit, Muffin, and Oreo Cookie, were rescued by the refuge from a high-kill shelter and moved into a foster home where the young family had a quiet, peaceful environment and could receive plenty of one-on-one attention from their loving foster family. Some tips for a HAPPY CAT!
*Teach them new tricks/training
*Give them plenty of hunting toys or use animal videos for them to chase on the screen
*Remember that cats love boxes
*Drive them crazy with catnip!
*Respect their space and territory
*Quality time at their request
*With the proper precautions – take them outside. Cats should be microchipped in case they can’t find their way home
*Give them a play buddy for social time
*Reward your feline with treats and positive reinforcement

Senior cats are the best!

Sara and her best buddy Sophie 2 were surrendered to the Goathouse this summer, and at first, they both were very fearful and heartbroken at having lost the only family they’d ever known. Under the patient, loving care of the staff at the Goathouse, both Sophie and Sara have begun to shed some of their shyness, and we hope to find them a wonderful, true forever home where they can live out their golden years. Approx. DOB: 07/20/2009.
