Spring Pond Cleanups are almost complete. If your pond needs attention we need to clean it when high temp is below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Tips for keeping pond clean in hot weather.
1. Do not change filters, instead rinse thoroughly in cool water and put back in the biofalls or filter. Why? What keeps your pond clear are living bacteria, and a day in the sun drying out kills it all.
2. Keep skimmer unobstructed, and clean filter pad in skimmer if needed. Turn the pump off before removing pad. Use a dip net to remove any debris that got past it.
3. If pump is in the bottom, I keep mine in a guard to keep most leaves and debris out, but I do pull pump to clean its prefilter and be sure impeller is not obstructed a couple of times a year.
4. Temperature is an issue, if your water flow is good and fast, but water is going green, consider a Sun Sail over the pond. Will try to find some links to post in comments.
If these things aren't in your desirable chore list, we'll be happy to help.
Service calls for filter clean and tidy up start at $85 for relatively easy ones that one person can handle, and 2 person service calls for the larger ones start at $125.
Hint hint - makes a great father's day gift if Dad doesn't feel like doing it.
