Holcomb's Honey Keeping bees since 2006 to provide my family with quality raw honey. In response to increased interest I continued to grow the number of colonies I keep.

As my passion for the bees grew so did other's interest in the quality products from their hives.

Took some extra swarm catching gear out of my truck less than 24 hours ago. Placed it in the shade here at the lake and caught a swarm. Lol! I love my bees and have been feeling down not having them right in my back yard. Well they aparerenly shared the same feelings and decided to come to me.

Worked bees this AM and wanted to mention to my customers I’m still working through the deals of relocating my Apiary. At this time I am holding off on bee sales, holding off on farmers market vending, but will keep everyone posted on honey sales as well as a few new things once everything is finalized and moving smoothly.

11/03/2024

Just dropping a note here to let my customers know spring has sprung and I’m currently working out this years relocation/restructure. I’m trying to work a few things out before releasing the details, but good things are ahead. Thanks everyone and I hope to relay more news soon!

I’d like to thank everyone for their support and I’d like to mention this Business page was deactivated for a period of time while I navigate through some changes. While I am currently sold out of products I will be hopefully relocating my apiaries this spring as I myself have relocated.

Not only will I be relocating my bees I will have to establish a new honey house at/near the new location. I am still in Marion County but no longer right in White Hall.

I will let everyone know when I’m back up and running again but for how I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years!

This year we will be adding a few natural products to our farmers market tables. Currently we are harvesting dandelions and starting the process of making enfused oil for Dandelion Salve. We will be using the finest cappings wax from our hives that are harvested during honey extraction. This is the cleanest and purest wax from a hive.

Description from the recipe we are starting with:

Dandelion flowers have pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, so this salve is good for all kinds of aches and pains. It is particularly good for sore and tired muscles and joints.

Dandelion salve is also soothing and moisturizing for dry, cracked, and itchy skin. It would also work well as a lip balm for chapped lips.

These products will be for external use. We will be adding other salves as the season goes and as we can either grow the ingredients or sustainability forage them.

Looking forward to bringing you all spring honey and a few other products that have evolved from our hives. The first market for the 2023 season will be the White Hall Farmer’s Market Saturday May 27th 9am-Noon. We plan to be there every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month for the duration of the season as long as our bees have a productive year and we have product to sell.

A Friend messaged me today about a swarm. Was an easy collection of a smallish swarm. I’m thankful there wasn’t more bees inside the electric box. Excited to see these bees draw new comb. Swarms are in overdrive when it comes to wax production. Let us know if you see a swarm of bees. We will either collect it or put you in contact with another beekeeper.
