A Little History...

I've had dogs and horses most of my life. I trained horses and gave riding lessons from 1980 - 1992. I became interested in dog training in 2012 when my rottie went from a friendly submissive puppy to an unruly obstinate teenager. I realized that she had the propensity to become vicious. I tried for 3 months on my own to correct her behavior but she was beyond my skillset. I found a wonderful trainer who not only helped me correct my dog's behavior, he trained me as well. He taught me about my body language, my dog's body language, proper breathing techniques and leash tension. I WAS HOOKED! I spent 4 months with my trainer. He passed away a few years ago and I never got a chance to share our accomplishments with him. I was so happy with her behavior that for the next 2 yrs, I did nothing with her other than enjoy her company. Then I found out that Norfolk offered an Off Leash Permit for dogs and handlers that could pass the AKC CGC test. I WAS IN! At that point she already behaved so well that I knew with a few tweaks we were a shoe in; and we were. From there I enrolled in Animal Behavior College, did an internship with an established trainer and at the SPCA. I graduated in 2017 and my dog and I have since acquired the Advanced Canine Good Citizen(CGCA) and the Urban Canine Good Citizen(CGCU). I'm waiting to help you get the dog of your dreams.
