Our private, non-profit organization is staffed by experienced volunteers who depend on temporary foster homes to provide safe, loving havens for cats and kittens awaiting adoption through Petfinder.com, other site adoption centers, and the PetSmart Charities Love-A-Pet Adoption Center in their Twin Falls, Idaho store. A very exciting and joyful congratulations to Jenni-fur for finally finding her life long home and person.
A little backstory:
Jenni-fur was lost or dumped, found abandoned walking down the edge of a country road, in the middle of nowhere. She was depressed and had basically given up. Heartbreaking, it was soon obvious she had borne -- and lost ---her kittens, as she still had milk. She was emaciated and starving. Thankfully her guardian angel scooped her up and brought her to Magicats. It took some time for this troubled girl to feel safe, comfortable and engaging, but with gentle encouragement, time and understanding, her true purrsonality came through and we finally saw this resilient girl come back to life. She never looked back. Jenni-fur is a wonderful, fun, chatty, confident and people loving girl, who will no doubt give her new mom much joy, great conversation and loving companionship. You deserve all that is good, Jenni-fur, soak it up.

Thank you to her patient, caring, devoted and loving foster family for giving her the support and time she needed to find her forever.

Food for thought when caring for community cats. 🤔🤔🤔
I like to use the black rubber feed bowls from Country store, D&B or any ranch supply store. (Or Amazon)

It's ! 🌬️❄️🏠🌡️🐈 What's the best water source for colony cats in below-freezing weather? If your colony has electricity for a heated water bowl, lucky you! No electricity? Don't despair! You can still help your kitties stay hydrated in deep winter.

• Refill the water bowl with warm water at feeding time. The cats should be on a feeding schedule so they'll show up while the water and food are still warm. For extra hydration, add a tablespoon of water to each serving of warmed-up wet food.
• Use a black plastic bowl for water and place it in the sunniest spot in your feeding area. Black plastic absorbs and holds heat, helping the sun melt the ice during the day. Raise the bowl off the cold ground so it doesn't rob heat from the bowl.
• Put a portable heat source under a metal water bowl. A plastic microwaveable heat disc or 8-hour hand warmers may delay freezing for a few hours. Metal bowls are best for this because they conduct heat easily from the heat source to the water.
• Make the most of your portable heat source by placing it and the water bowl inside a small insulated foam box to slow heat loss. Cut a hole in one side, large enough for cats to comfortably reach in and take a drink. It's a great use for foam boxes that are too small to be made into cat shelters.

A Magic Update! Beans Story- Baby Bean was found all by himself at approximately 10 days old, in a very dangerous perdicament, in the middle of a busy parking lot. We can only figure Momma must have been trying to move him and got spooked. Thankfully, a sweet mom and son spotted him and came to his rescue. At such a young age, Bean needed to be bottle fed and the family asked Magicats to take over. But, stated they wanted to adopt little Bean when he was ready. So, over the next few months, little Bean sprouted, took the bottle like a champ, moved on to kitten food, fostered with another sweet orphaned kitten named Moxy and had a wonderful kitten- hood romping, rolling, climbing, grooming and learning to be a good kitty. Lots of pictures passed between the finders and the foster, we shared his progress frequently, as we wanted them to be included in his journey. Then the time came when baby Bean was 4 months old and ready for adoption. What an exciting time...little Bean was back in the hands of his heroes and he remembered them. It was remarkable. Bean was adopted last year and has grown into a big, gorgeous, happy, healthy boy. He is loved immensely and brings lots of laughs and joy to his family with his crazy antics. He loves carrying around his orange ear plugs, they are his prized possessions and can be found all around the house. 😁 He always did have a big purrsonality for such a little Bean sprout. Thanks for the update and pics! P.s. I was fortunate to have Bean as my foster❤
