‼️Santa Barbara county friends!‼️I’m trying to help someone find a home for their horse. You can contact Denise Kittle Weniger for more info as she is in contact with the owner. Here is his description!

“May I present Lark, full QH, 10 year old gelding! Around 16hh tall(need to re-measure to be sure)stout and stocky! Barefoot! Although Lark is a sweet soul he needs an experienced rider who knows how to read horses and be a little bit of a step ahead sometimes!;)he needs to know who's boss otherwise he will boss you around! That being said when the connection is found, there will be an equal level bond established! he has rascal streak in him that when not handled correctly can escalate over time as he will take advantage of some riders/handlers weaknesses presented! He is on the lazy side but but will walk, trot and canter without a problem! Rocking horse canter, so nice! Hes a big mover! Rides ba****ck in a halter at all gates if that's what somebody likes! The reason for him being sold is he became to much horse over time for his current owner, who he unfortunately kicked and bucked off due to being a beginner rider and lack fo certain horse knowledge, hendse needing an experienced rider! When Lark was purchased we later found out he had EPM which we since then have successfully treated but he still has a little bit of a week hind end and is a tad bit heavy on the forehead coming down hills! EPM was diagnosed over 2 years ago! He is feeling great now and has become stronger and blossomed and much more horse than the owner wants to deal with! He also seems to like woman more than men! He would make a great fit for someone younger and wants to have an easy but still fun trail horse that will be a little challenge here and there! Rehoming fee of $1000😉 For more specific information you can contact Denise Kittle Weniger over Facebook messenger!”

‼️‼️Home needed‼️‼️

I was asked to help find a home for a very sweet dog named scout! This is the description👇🏼

“Hi Ginny, Scout is such a lovey dog looking for a great home. My colleague Terrys brother adopted this dog but unfortunately he is unable physically and mentally to care for the dog in the ways he needs. He loves to play, does well with all kids, people and dogs! Loves to go on walks and run around as well, as he can be energetic at times. Scout is currently in Santa Barbara!”

‼️❤️My vet hospital has reached about to me about finding a home or foster for a cat who was surrendered to them a while back!‼️❤️
Here is what they wrote about her and some pictures:

We are still actively trying to find a new forever home for sweet beautiful Sasha, who was relinquished to San Roque Pet Hospital. She’s a very sweet 10 year old grey kitty with lots of love to give. She is up to date on her wellness exam and vaccines, and is currently on a renal diet. She would be happiest in a home with no other pets and a human with previous cat experience. She loves head kisses and cuddles and enjoys playing with toys. She likes to sit in the sun and is very vocal. She’s really just looking for a loving companion to live out the rest of her days with.
Please contact Kacey at [email protected] if you are interested in fostering / adopting her or if you know anyone that fits the profile of a forever home for her!

Helping a friend try to network some dogs in desperate need of a foster or forever home!! This was the description she gave me:

We need a miracle! About a month ago 2 female pitbulls were dumped at a vet clinic in LA with the directive to be euthanized. No reports of any behavior issues. I helped facilitate them coming to SB, but there's no foster group backing them. One is 8 (Stella) and one is 6 (Mitzy). We tried one foster in IV, but her landlord said "nope," and we needed a new plan. They are separated now and doing well, but the new plan was temp at best and time has expired. Taking them to county or humane society is complicated since they are not strays or even owner surrenders. They were someone's pets though, and are total house dogs.

*Stella (white and black):Stella is a very loving dog who definitely has a huge heart as soon as she gets to know you.Although she’s rather shy, specifically with large men, she does warm up immediately after smelling them and recognizing who her friends are. Stella needs a lot of reassurance right now, but is also very obedient and has been getting trained on walks as well to behave correctly with others and their dogs. She is crate trained and definitely understands when to be obedient and when to play and has no problem being an active dog.She is a dominant dog and best as solo dog. She needs some basic leash training for walks because she pulls.

*Mitzy (dark brown): Mitzy is a very sweet and submissive dog.She is well mannered and house trained, but can be scared of new people so she needs some time to get comfortable. Once comfortable, Mitzy is the most loyal and lovable dog in the world. She is very cuddly and loves to snuggle with you in bed every night. She is uncertain what's happening to her, so at times she can be very jumpy and alert, and feel sad when you leave.Once she feels secure in your home, she will likely feel comfortable when left alone. She needs some basic leash training for walks because she pulls.

If you are interested but are not sure about your landlord I can help explain housing rights if you have an ESA letter to support your request to have a dog. We are running out of options for these beautiful girls who did nothing wrong to be in this situation.

Can anyone give this beautiful dog a home? The owner is being forced to rehome because he cannot find appropriate housing that allows dogs in Santa Barbara unfortunately. The housing market is so discriminatory for pet owners!
She is a 12 year old boxer/terrier mix. Great with people but not so great with other dogs. Her name is Sheva🖤🐶

This cute lil guy from my last post is still for adoption! I’ve named alex for the time being☺️He is very sweet and mellow but has deformities in his legs. We are not sure what from but most likely MBD(metabolic bone disease). This does not effect him in any way other than he looks a little funny and a little different than the others🤓
If you’re interested in adding alex to your family then reach out to me!🦎

Can anyone take in a boxer? Not mine—just helping place them. There are three that are all looking for homes but I only have photos of these two.. Supposedly very friendly with people and dogs and all three are registered as service animals so very well trained! All around 4-5 years old and it’s 2 boys and 1 girl. Can go separately!

I rescued this little fellow and he is now for adoption! He has a bit of a mangled leg and we are not sure what happened to it but he still gets around just fine. Leopard geckos make awesome pets as they’re fairly straight forward in their care and tend to have low stress and relaxed demeanors.
Let me know if anyone is interested in this guy!!

About Us

The name Ahimsa comes from the Sanskrit meaning of non-violence and peace to all creatures.

Here at Ahimsa Animal Rescue, we are driven by a single goal; to save as many animals in need as possible. We do not discriminate. Reptiles, amphibians, small rodents, rabbits, large mammals and more.

In order to keep rescuing, we must adopt out as well. Adoptions are a major part of running this operation smoothly! However, some animals unfortunately cannot be adopted out due to medical conditions or specific disabilities and will live out their days here at the rescue. On the other hand, animals who are given a clean bill of health will go up for adoption to the public as soon as possible with an application approval and small rehoming fee.

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenge of educating the public. Through social media and community outreach we focus on educating the next generation of pet owners on proper animal husbandry. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to let us continue rescuing!
