2024 TAOM Project Page Hi, my name is Kari and I’m a 56 year old grammy of 15 amazing grandkids.

I have been around horses all my life and raised my daughters on horses and I enjoy sharing horses with our grandchildren as well. I’m looking forward to being one of the Teens and Oregon Mustangs Trainers this year as I watched them train last year and I love how they support and encourage each other. I’m excited for pick up day (April 27) because I love the teaching/training process, but I have to admit I’m a little nervous too because it will be my first mustang to work with from the wild.

Daisy and I got to be in the St. Paul 4th of July parade. It was a LOT of exposure to new things. Thank you to the TAOM volunteers who support this program behind the scenes and my husband, Casey and Lindsey Sears for the photos!

This was Daisy's second time trailering off our property and the first day at the Fisher's obstacle course. I was really impressed with how quiet she was. Neither of us had been on a teetering bridge before 😆

It was also her first time seeing a bike as it came right up behind her. That was scary for sure. 🚵

Daisy learning to lead off another horse. It was my old mare, Kahlua's, first time ponying. Also some pics and video of our trip up to the trails at Gates. Daisy did great!!!

In the last ten days Daisy has learned how to lead, that it's OK to be touched most places on her body, hip and shoulder yield and started touching legs, and her tag is off. She loves to eat and to be scratched.

We're working to smooth out hip and shoulder yields, sending, backing, leading alongside instead of behind, changing out the halter, etc,

Now to get those dreadlocks out of her mane...
