They have been BEST FRIENDS since they met here for training and they continue to come and meet up here on some Fridays to catch up and gossip about how they should have been sisters and how quick the squirrels are these days 🥰

Not sure if I’ll get anything else done today 🥹

This is day 1 for BOTH of these dogs. Yes day 1. You are probably sitting at home like “ my dog would never ever”. Luckly through the years I have found ways to communicate with them a tad more effectively. Fun fact neither of these dogs got a command for place or stay (that doesn’t come until the behavior is known). I integrated hand motions to help show them what I want but then just rewarded for them offering the behavior I liked. I certainly don’t work for free and neither should your dog (atleast at first you can slow down later like your raises come slower through the years at work). No this isn’t exactly luck, it’s communication. I am booked out until February and that’s looking to start going into march. Text or PM only let’s chat.

I have been feeling down right cruddy the past few days. I’m missing important training with my own dogs this weekend but it doesn’t mean they don’t need that energy burn off. Here’s Psy being destruction and clean up crew.

Resource guarding food bowls- some trainers will tell you not to build drive to the food bowl because it builds frustration to get food along with sloppy obedience around the food bowl and I totally agree. HOWEVER with resource guarding once the dog has possession it’s then their bowl end of behavior pattern. Manipulating that behavior pattern starts with there only being food given when the human has the bowl and obedience standards are set. Ully here has high frustration to get to food and is even more frustrated when he can’t have it all- que obedience, relaxation then food only from human. Teaching the bowl is neutral and food only happens when human makes it happen. This is only the start of learning here but I wanted to share how I help resource guarding cases. #dogtraining #dogtrainer #resourceguarding #dogbehavior
