My name is Ninja, and I'm a rescue male black cat almost 9 years old... my officially adopted birth-day is October 31st, 2007. I was found in an alley in the cold in White Hall, Illinois when I was just a month or two old all by myself (just like my sisfur Omni!). (Did you know black cats are one the least likey to get picked for adoption?!)

nt to them, and they've spent a lot of money making me better...
I was hit by a car on Highway 104 in Franklin, Illinois in the late evening on Monday, January 9, 2012. My right eye was even knocked out of its socket and part of my jaw was lacerated and detached. After all of that trauma I somehow miraculously made it home despite being blinded, bleeding, in pain, and in shock! I guess I could just feel the direction of the love from my family! I was rushed to an emergency clinic in Springfield where they stabilized me enough to be taken to the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital. That was a lot of Driving fur my Dads to do! Once they put my right eye back into the socket they stitched it shut until the swelling went down. I had a feeding tube put in since I couldn't eat normally. They performed surgery 1/13/12 to fix the gap between my hard pallet and the gap from the breaks on my jaw; so I had to have 2 wires holding the right & left sides of my mouth together, one for the top and one for the bottom jaw. I got those wires taken off 3/26/12 and over 50% of my teeth removed because they were either broken or keeping my mouth from closing. My TMJ and on one side is completely detached and my jaw bone on the other side was broken, but the bone has repaired itself and the TMJ hasn't seemed to effect my overall movement! Mamma sometimes sayz I'm a Snaggle Tooth cuz I only have one fang! I've made a lot of progress and have come so far in my recovery! I can eat on my own again (fur the most part), even drink & I try to wash food off my face. I got my feeding tube out a while ago, so that is a big relief! My right eye had 2 stitches in it, but my eyelid grew together enough that I didn't need stitches anymore! I currently have my regular VetDoctor Sandino at Macoupin Veterinary Clinic in Carlinville, Illinois. I want to be a normal kitty again! It's so hard when all this healing takes so much time! I think I'm doing a pretty good job! My Mamma & Dads have done and will do whatever is needed to take care of me (cuz I'm worth it!), but it's been extremely costly nonetheless. The original bills were insane (you can view the actual bills in my photo album), but a lot of the cost was covered by donations. Then my Dads passed away unexpectedly March 6, 2015. It broke all of our hearts, especially Mamma. My sisfur Omni lives in Ohio with one of Dads friends, and I'm wif Mamma, Laika (GSD), and my kitty siblings Ginger, Mishka, & Stoli. (Stoli Silver came to use around the time Dads died, so he's a Russian Blue sent by da angels to help us and remind us that Dads love lives on.)
