How we're running toward the weekend...
Here's some of the action from last Saturday's Canine Manners in Public workshop! We worked on having good leash manners in proximity to other people, dogs, children, and ducks. All the dogs did great, and were even able to lay down in the shade together, while staying calm and focused on their handlers.

Carrots are a popular snack with our Academy students. Ollie loves them and doesn't mind sharing 🙂
Perry is trying really hard to get tiny Ollivander to play with him! Ollie wants to play, but doesn't want to get squished!
Good morning from Behavior Tails! It's a great day for a romp around with friends 🧡
Everyone needs to take a break from their busy day and nap! Especially if you're a dog who's been training and playing all day... zzz...

Frankie overcomes his fears and goes through the tunnel! Yay Frankie!! 🎉
Not only are challenges like going through a tunnel cute and fun, challenging dogs in a safe, supportive way is confidence building and great for building resilience and smarts. Teaching dogs new, fun things can also can help with other types of training, in that the dog becomes confident in offering behaviors, therefore problem solving what the trainer is asking for more quickly on their own.
Tricks, for example, are a great way to expand your dogs skills, improve their confidence, and grow your relationship with your dog.

Frankie and Poppi met today and became fast friends!
Look at this beautiful play between little Gus and his much larger friend, Chloe. Chloe is laying down, making herself smaller for Gus, and genuinely enjoying the interaction in small, appropriate play. They've been doing this for about 10 minutes, and we love to see it!
