🎃👻 Halloween is just around the corner! 🎃👻
Here's a few mistakes you can avoid to make sure everyone is actually having a good time. 🎊
Because dogs don't understand Halloween and all that goes with it. For them, scary is not funny.
Don't lose their trust over ghosts and pumpkins, that would be a shame 👽

Meet WREN 😍
This beautiful German Shepherd puppy is about 5 months and already has very good manners and knows a lot of tricks 😎
Don't worry, Wren is still a silly puppy with shark teeth who likes to taste everything she finds on the ground 🤣
Our weekly solo sessions are filled with puppy energy and laugh 💓

Meet BIGGIE 💓
This sweet girl is around 8 and came all the way from California, after being abandoned while she was pregnant.
🫂A nice lady rescued her from the high kill shelter, where she had her babies, and sent her to Vancouver to find her furever home.
The second person who fostered her couldn't imagine letting her go so...he adopted her 💕
✅Biggie looooves playing in the waves, cuddling with her Human and eating treats.
❌ We don't have much information about her past but it seems that she had a hard time with other dogs and her fear leads her to either freeze or fight when she sees a dog (even a sleeping puppy is scary for her 😞).
⏩ We'll work on building a strong bond between BIGGIE and her Human, based on mutual understanding and patience.
Learning about dog body language, management skills to avoid or escape from tricky situations for BIGGIE.
🙌 Making sure we build up her confidence using force free and fear free methods
Who is rooting for Miss Biggie? 💕🙌💕

Wishing a great long weekend 😎 and a happy BC day 🙌
It's hot again, not only in Vancouver.
🥵 Keep your dog in a fresh place, with shade and water, if you're taking them with you.
Reduce physical exercise and high intensity activities!
I'm spending the long weekend with Miss Lea and we kept the walks short until the evening, when the temperatures cooled down and we got to enjoy another beautiful sunset made in BC 😍

SUMMER IS HERE 😎☀️
While most of us really enjoy the sunny days and warmer weather, 🏖️we have to keep in mind that our dogs don't necessarily feel the same way 🥵
⚠️ It's especially hard for short nosed dogs (pugs, Boston terries, frenchies,...), old dogs, sick dogs
Here are some recommendations and precautions to keep your dog safe during summer.
🔥 DON'T LEAVE YOUR DOG IN YOUR CAR:
Dogs pant to lower their body temperature, which requires fresh, cool air to be effective. When the air inside a car becomes hot and stagnant, panting becomes less efficient.
☠️ Even if the window is cracked open, your dog can overheat rapidly, leading to heatstroke or other serious health issues. Never leave dogs or other pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes in the shade and with windows slightly open.
💡 What you can EXCEPTIONALLY do: use your spare key to close the door and leave the engine running with the AC on. ⚠️ Mechanical failure can still happen and it's not environmentally friendly.
🔥 FLOOR IS LAVA:
The pavement but also the sand get hot very quickly on hot days and your dog can get burnt.
Their paw pads are very sensitive and allow them to sweat, to regulate their body temperature, which is impossible when the floor is too hot.
Be mindful of where you ask your dog to walk and stand.
🔥 HOT SUMMER DAYS should be lazy days 🦥
Reduce considerably physical activities
🧊 Make sure your dog stays hydrated (fresh water, frozen food toys...) and cool (shade, ice vests, AC, ...).

How many times have I heard a client say: "At home he's listening, but outside he's so stubborn...😤" ?
Way too many 🤣
But guess what?
Maybe your dog isn't stupid or stubborn, maybe you went too fast too soon and skipped a few steps in your training. 🤓
✅ Understanding how your dog learns will help you get better and long lasting results!
If you're still struggling with your dog's training, send me a DM or call me 😉

THE 4 D'S OF DOG TRAINING
Is your dog usually listening to your cues in the house but forgets everything as soon as he's outside?😬
How frustrating!😤
It's not surprising, though 🤓
You probably didn't know about the 4 D's of dog training!
👉 Duration
👉 Distance
👉 Distraction
👉 Difficulty
One D at a time, your dog will get what you're expecting from him and will be much more reliable.
Remember that in dog training:
💡Going slow will take you a long way!
🔁 Repetition is key
And if you're still struggling, DM me or email me at [email protected] 😊

Meet NORMAN 😍
This handsome guy got rescued a bit more than 2 years ago and has been showing some anxiety around strangers and new situations.
We'll be working on that to help you feel safe and secure, love.
🤓Starting with making sure his needs are met and that we keep him away from situations that trigger him.
We got your back, Norman. 💗

I took Annabelle on her first DECOMPRESSION WALK today. 💕
😖She was a bit stressed because it was only the second time she was going to the cemetery and the first time walking with just me.
🧐 We played "find it" games to help her relax and use her nose, rather than scanning the environment for a potential threat.
👏 She was able to take treats and engage with me so that's already a big win for this beautiful girl, who was saved from a puppy mill a couple of months ago.
One step at a time 🙌

MANAGEMENT is a word we often use in dog training.
🤓 It should be playing a key role in any training program, especially at the beginning. (And once you realize how helpful it is, you'll probably keep on using it 😉).
👉 But what is "management" and why do we need it? Read the slides to learn more about management!
✍️ Let us know in the comments how you incorporate management in your training and the effects you notice on your dog (and you!).

Meet ANNABELLE 💕
This cutie girl got away from a puppy mill, where she was forced to have litters after litters...😢
Once she got health issues, they just got rid of her and took her in, to find her a forever home.
She's doing the best she can to adjust to her new life and learning to become a family dog.🙏
She definitely lacked a lot of the essential socializing and good experiences she should have had as a puppy, but she's very smart and willing to learn 🙌
She also found a very dedicated Human who's ready to help her the best he can.
We got you, Annabelle. 💓

Lord Peanut 💕
That's a wrap! I spent the week with Peanut and I had the best time. 💗
🙌 He's doing so much better in stressful situations, thanks to the training and to the medication. He has a better threshold and also recovers way faster 🙏
He's so cuddly and playful too. I love you, my Lord 💓
Thanks a lot for your trust 😊
