Second weekβs peek at Lemondrop Clothing Closet Boutique! Everything here will be available for FREE for anyone who needs clothing, hopefully starting in September.
We need at least three more racks, and still more plastic hangers. If you can donate racks or hangers (or ship through Amazon), we would be incredibly grateful! πβ¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ

Apologies that we didnβt get the other posts about the giveaway out yet. Weβve been working most of the day on a washer that was donated a couple weeks ago. We were told it was working perfectly with no issues. But once installed β it doesnβt drain, and the screen is clearly not working.
For anyone considering donating used appliances. Please be totally honest with the place youβre donating to. Especially smaller less-funded nonprofits like Lemondrop. It costs us to haul donations. Both gas money, and volunteer time.
Now we are stuck with a broken washer that we will have to de-install and haul off to be dumped, and a huge load of dirty dog laundry, that will not drain. π

Weβve been working hard the last couple days completing the set up and merge of our new very large community tank! π π π¦ π«§
Our plan is to add on a room specifically for our aquariums and terrariums, unfortunately it is taking a bit longer than we thought. Thankfully now we have a local contracting company donating their time to help build! But getting donations of the materials we need will take time.
SO! We had four or five separate smaller tanks, with each fish type in it. We realized that it would be best just to clear a space to add one large tank, and merge everyone as one happy community while we wait for the new room to be finished. π
Quite pleased with how lovely it looks! You canβt see them, but both our resident plecos are also in here (hiding in their driftwood cave). We will try and get video of them soon!
If you happen to know of any local hardware businesses, who would be willing to donate supplies toward the new room - please let us know! π

Our resident Axolotl Bertha interacting with our Volunteer today. π Isnβt she a cutie? The original clip was over a minute long β we sped it to 2.5x. Theyβre such slow moving water puppies sometimes. π the rest of the time you blink, and they disappear.

Today our beautiful little family of parakeets, (Lace, Cotton, Indigo and Cheerio) moved from their flight cage, and into our huge handcrafted aviary. They were so excited! π¦π

Lemondrop Community Outreach helps feed 2000 people in the #Tallahassee FL area. Tallahassee is currently at nearly 50% food insecurity in the 32303 zip code alone and 25% poverty rate in the entirety of the city. We also support almost 3000 people getting fed in the Pomona, California area, where the poverty percentage is 17%.
Lemondrop Farm Sanctuary supports around 100 animals who are either too damaged or have special needs and need permanent long term care. Mostly farm animals, but also a few long term resident or elderly canines, exotic birds and freshwater fish (including Axolotls).
Last year our revenue was $6000 total, which funds the Farm Sanctuary and the Community Outreach programs in both FL and CA. We have received no government or local grants or any sizable support for nearly two years.
All our staff are 100% volunteers and receive zero compensation for the time they spend with Lemondrop.
Please consider becoming a donor and support our vital work. (Find links on our page!)

A huge thank you to our friend and volunteer Mary, who does food pickup for our on-site full time volunteers and fresh food for the animals. Itβs such a HUGE help, and gives us more time for repairs and animal care. We are so grateful for her love. π

The first #monarch #butterfly of the season at the #sanctuary! She was visiting our butterfly bush today, and feeding on the purple flowers. There was a second one also (not pictured), and they were twirling together.
Please remember to support your #pollinators this year! Let a corner of your grass grow long, plant #wildflowers, donβt use weed killer, itβs their world too! π
Musky bathtime! π€£π¦ he is one of our long term resident Muscovy ducks. Heβs so friendly, that he will literally eat out of your hand.
