Lemondrop Productions Inc. is a 501c3 charitable non-profit. Serving FL, GA and CA. Saving animals, helping people. Lemondrop is 100% NO KILL. Please donate!
We provide care to those who need it most whether human or animal. Please visit our website for more information, FAQ's and details about some of our resident animals. All donations made are tax deductible under FEIN 45-277-6445 as a Federal Tax Exempt NonProfit. All donations go directly toward keeping our doors open and programs running, none of our staff or Volunteers take a paycheck or salary
and none of the donations go toward marketing. Lemondrop has been in operation since 2011. At our Farm Sanctuary, we host over 100 resident farm animals, dogs, cats and exotic birds who have found permanent sanctuary with us and our Volunteers. They remain with us for the rest of their natural lives in a safe, comfortable environment. At our Community Outreach we provide food, clothing and household items directly to more than 1000 people in need each week at our Tallahassee area distribution alone. We estimate that we reach around 150-300 people at our California location each week. We operate in Florida, Georgia and California (Farm Sanctuary and headquarters are located solely in Florida). Four years ago, after losing her mate Stoney, Tico invited the young and energetic Zephyr (green cheek conure) to share her nesting box. π It was the perfect distraction to get her out of the grief of the loss of her mate.
Tico invited Zephyr to join her in the nesting box. Theyβve basically become inseparable. He was the perfect solution to her grief of losing Stoney.

βοΈDriving around town you might notice some of our neighbors across Leon County donβt live within walking distance of a grocery store.
βοΈThis is because a large portion of our city is considered food insecure.
βοΈThis doesnβt always mean distance either. Sometimes itβs simply the cost of food in relation to how much money a person makes.
βοΈAccording to NCBI ( https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11251681/), scurvy (most commonly caused by dietary insufficiencies) cases in the United States is on the rise and tripled between 2016 and 2020.
βοΈGratitude goes to local organizations like Little Sunshine Pantries and Lemondrop Farm Sanctuary & Community Outreach who work to address food insecurities right here in Tallahassee. Check out their pages not just this season but throughout the year and get involved π«Ά

We're having some connection issues. We may not be able to post or check messages for a couple days. Hope to have it fixed soon.

A memory that just popped up from a couple years ago. π
Today our Volunteer Melanie, helped fill 3 Help Shelf TLH box locations with grab and go bread and sweets. If you or your family is in need, please head to one of the locations we distributed to, and collect what you need.
Our hope and goal is to reach people, who have no other option for food. Ideally the boxes will be utilized and empty (of the bread and sweets) by the end of the day.
It really is astonishing β when local business owners tell us βyou donβt reach enough people for us to consider you for a donationβ.
Perhaps itβs a clash of mindset, but we believe everyone matters. Lemondrop reaches more than 3,000 people each week, across all of our programs.
Thatβs approximately 156,000 peopleβs lives each year that Lemondrop touches.
Local businesses who, in essence, say that those 156,000 people *donβt matter* morally outages us.
EVERYONE matters.

Stoney was such a good little old man. We cherished him. Editing to add: he passed in 2020, but we miss him always. π this popped up in our memories today.
This year, weβre facing hospice type care for several of our oldest animals (canine residents and one of our aviary residents).
Itβs always a very difficult time for our full time volunteers, as everything else gets set aside and the animal in need gets round the clock care. Thatβs the main reason why weβve been posting less the last couple weeks, dealing with intensified animal care, and trying to get things to people in need before the holidays.
We need more volunteers! If you have an hour or two per week, to give a little back, please contact us!
We need help both with our food pickup and delivery, also with our once monthly clothing closet. Read more in the post β¬οΈ
Please be aware: everyone has to fill out a volunteer application, you must have your own vehicle, and be able to use your phone. We utilize the Signal app (free download), which is also a requirement.
We need Volunteers! Do you love helping local people in need? Are you able to commit 1 hour each week to volunteering? Are you looking for a sense of belonging?
Join the Lemondrop family!
Volunteers commit to 1 hour each week, doing work like: picking up and drop off donations. Having your own vehicle and insurance are required. π Being able to functionally use a cell phone and phone camera are also required.
Usually takes an hour or less time can be scheduled between 9am-4pm. Most pickups and drop offs are along North Monroe β so please make sure this would be convenient for you. We are looking for volunteers to be emergency backups (on call) for:
Please message us here, send an email or text if youβre interested in joining our community family of Volunteers, so we can send you our volunteer application.
Today our Volunteer Kara, helped fill 4 Help Shelf TLH box locations with grab and go bread and sweets. If you or your family is in need, please head to one of the locations we distributed to, and collect what you need.

A huge thank you to Kara for sending the Borax and bird feed! And to Daniel for the detergent! All things we desperately needed. Thank you so much. π

Super cute video that we just captured of our resident guineas. There was a huge amount of noise on the roof, so we went out to check, and it turns out the whole flock of guineas was hanging out of the roof and playing. ππ
Made it hi-con black and white so you could see them really clearly peeking over the edge of the roof.
Fun fact! Guineas are excellent at warning when thereβs predators, or any sort of risk to the bird flock. Theyβll start screaming to let us know that they need help. We absolutely love them.

Everyone at the sanctuary is safe! As far as we can tell, there was no damage, even from the crazy wind and rain.
Our power went out around 2am, and weβre still waiting for it to come back. Thankfully we have a generator (donated by Jaime after Hurricane Michael), to power the Axolotl tanks (they have to stay cool).
The animals were all so excited to get outside in the sun!
Hope youβre all well! Thank you for all your prayers. We are so grateful. π

Saving Animals - Helping People
Since 2000 we have been rescuing animals from various circumstances, including strays and slaughter house abuse victims. In 2011 we incorporated as a non-profit so that we could solicit support from the local communities and companies to help us continue our work, of caring for, housing and feeding these animals. Since 2011 weβve been able to take in roughly 250 animals in need, our focus is Farm Animals although we do take some cats and dogs on a case by case basis.
We rehabilitate each rescue upon arrival, bringing them up to health and weight, then merge them into the Lemondrop Farm Animal Family. Once we take in an animal we give them sanctuary for the rest of their natural lives. This means that the animals stay at the sanctuary, they do not get farmed out for slaughter, rehoming, marketing, trafficking or fighting etc. Each animal is given a large pasture or area to freely roam, graze, or play; none of the animals are kept in cages. Each pasture has a special shelter or barn to meet each type of animals needs for shelter from rain or inclement weather. We currently give permanent sanctuary to around 80 rescued farm animals.
In 2017 we were hit with Hurricane Irma as a Category 1-2, and then in 2018 we were directly hit by Hurricane Michael at a Category 5. Michael and a tornado that spun off of it, destroyed most of the Sanctuary, barns, shelters and fencing. After the hurricane the Board of Directors decided that our animals would have to be moved into Foster Homes until we could rebuild. As of 11/2018 we are still trying to raise funds to rebuild the Sanctuary.
Lemondrop Community Outreach partners with local churches and individuals who have a passion for helping feed, clothe and minister to the homeless community, especially veterans in need, in Tallahassee Florida and the surrounding areas.
We help feed approximately 500 people each week in Tallahassee alone, and has been partnering with Farm Share since 2013 to bring more food to needy families. At our Pomona California location we feed approximately 300 people each week and has been running since 2011. Lemondrop collects clothing and household items and distributes it to homeless, needy families, veterans or single parents. Unlike other non-profits who sell their donations at a thrift or outlet store, every bit of our donations go directly into the hands of those who need it, without any charge, money or favors required.
