New Year, new transports...ATTENTION MIAMI COUNTY RESIDENTS!!! We are happy to announce that we have just opened up a transport in Peru, IN! We are hoping to make this a monthly transport starting on Thursday February 20th.
To schedule your cat or dog for a surgery, please call our transport line at 317-675-0072 and leave a message. You can also visit our website at www.lowcostspayneuterindiana.org to complete an online submission form to start the appointment process. We do not transport for vaccines only; however, vaccinations can be done at the same time as a spay, neuter, or dental. We do not require an appointment for feral cats; therefore, you can bring up to 2 feral cats per day per person. Thank you for all the community support. We look forward to caring for your pets!

Aurora is need of an attentive family who will lavish her with love.
-She had been kenneled a LOT and has some separation anxiety.
-She is somewhat timid when she first meets people. Her hackles go up because she’s scared.
-She is very sweet and loving as soon as you start petting her.
-Recommend meet and greets with future fur siblings.
-She could care less about my cats.
-She is NOT a couch potato so please understand she will need to be active (dog park, walks, etc). Beagles are working dogs and need to be useful.
- She has been FAILED by people in the past.

Please remember it is not always a LOVE CONNECTION with other fur family members. There is an adjustment period.

Please remember that it takes a few weeks for your home routine to catch on. Sometimes a little longer. There is an adjustment period.

Please remember that sometimes shelter dogs carry scars. Scars fro previous homes, neglect, anxiety from being in the shelter. There is an adjustment period.

Please remember that their trauma may appear in food or toy aggression. Sometimes this can lessen as dogs get comfortable and learn to trust in the new home. Sometimes there are modifications that need to be made. There is an adjustment period.

First 3 days: The dog decompresses from travel and adjusts to their new surroundings. They may be overwhelmed, not want to eat, or hide under a table.
Next 3 weeks: The dog learns your routine and settles in.
First 3 months: The dog continues to socialize and train, and builds trust and bonds with you.

Well, now that we are passed Christmas, it is time to get back to business.

Not sure if you notice, but around the holidays we stop pushing adoptions.

Not because they don't deserve homes, but because holiday adoptions can be complicated.

The chaotic holiday season can be overwhelming for a new pet, potentially leading to increased stress and a higher chance of the dog being returned to the shelter due to difficulties adjusting to a new home with all the holiday commotion.

We want to give these dogs every opportunity at FOREVER HOMES.

We offer discounted or free adoptions (if your adoption application is approved) on several of our sponsored dogs.

We offer free trials to allow you time to make sure you are a perfect fit.
