The Giving Tree

Scarlet is our featured pet today!
Scarlet is a 2 year old Irish Setter. This readhead is sweet, sassy, and gorgeous! She would like a nice hairbrush and some tougher, harder to destroy plush toys. If you would like to throw her a bone, she is particularly fond of the “Dura” line of Nylabone. She is very much hoping to find someone that “frankly gives a darn!”

The Giving Tree

Each year we pick a local animal rescue to sponsor a Giving Tree to help pets in need. This year we are proud to sponsor Village Dog Resource. Each card has a photo and bio of a pet in the rescue with items needed. Donations can be wrapped for the tree or we will wrap items donated when they are brought in. Also, gift cards and online items can be mailed/delivered to our clinic for a pet.
Please help us make this year’s Giving Tree the best one yet!!! Thank you:)

As Senior Pet Month winds down we would like to share some tips for making the most of those golden years!

1. Be Proactive with your Pet's Health
Regular vet visits are the golden tickets as pets age, so mark your calendars for checkups every six months! These visits are crucial for catching pesky senior ailments before they throw a party in your pet's body.

Watch out for obesity; staying fit and trim is vital for joint health. Whether you're battling a little extra weight or other health quirks, a chat with your vet is a must to ensure your pet is getting the nutrients they need!

2. Know the Signs!

Keep your eyes peeled for any signs your fur baby might need a little extra TLC. Signs to be on the lookout for can include:
sudden increase or decrease in weight or appetite, behavioral changes, bathroom, accidents, excessive coughing, or just a general "meh" attitude.
No one knows your pet like you do!
If you spot any of these red flags, give your vet a call!

3. Stay Active
Shake a leg, because exercise is the secret sauce to a long, happy life at any age! Keep those walks rolling, but don’t forget to tailor your route to your pet’s fitness level. And let’s not forget the brain! Just like our bodies, our furry pals need mental workouts too. Switch up your walking paths to tickle their noses with new sights and smells. If walks seem like a marathon, just roam around the yard! Hide treats like a sneaky little treasure hunt and watch your pet channel their inner detective. Mental gymnastics are a must at any age!

Please enjoy a sampling of our older kids. 😻

We would like to congratulate Bonnie for being chosen and celebrated by Shiner's Pizza Salute for their August veterinary professional of the month!
