Thank you everyone for your patience!
We, again, had hundreds of photos to sift through and choose from, and they were all wonderful! These are the 2024 JCVC photo contest winners that we will get to enjoy this year. Congratulations to all!

Jack is excited to announce that the 2024 Pet Photo Contest Is Here!!!

Here are the details:
- Submit photos via e-mail to [email protected]
- Each family may submit up to 3 photos for consideration.
- Please do not submit photos with people in the picture.
- Winning submissions will be made into a canvas print and will be displayed in the JCVC office throughout 2024. At the end of the year, you will be able to claim your canvas print and take it home to display there.
Keep in mind that we can only use high resolution photos to create the canvas prints. If your photo becomes pixelated when enlarged, we probably won't be able to use it. When e-mailing the photo, choose "actual size" for file size.
Deadline for submissions is 12/15/2023!
We can't wait to see the memories you've captured this year!
*** Also, if you were a winner of last year's contest, please stop at the clinic to pick up your canvas, so you can enjoy it in your own home!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all able to get a chance to enjoy this beautiful fall weather in store for this weekend! This is just a notice that we will be closed on Monday a bit earlier than normal for a staff event. We will be closing at 3pm instead of 5pm. Hello everyone, hope you’ve been enjoying the beautiful fall weather we’ve been having lately! This post is to let you know that we will be closed this Saturday, October 1st, so that we can celebrate a very important day together. Erika will be getting married!! If you see her, please give her some congratulations. So with that said, please plan ahead if you are in need of medications or food. We will be back in the office on Monday October 3rd. We certainly couldn't let International Cat Day 2022 go by without recognizing it! Of course, we at JCVC love cats, but I know few people who love cats more than my (Dr. Amy's) daughter Carly. This past week, she and I took a short trip to Denver, and we had the opportunity to check out the Denver Cat Company. They are a cat cafe that highlights available rescue cats available for adoption. It was such a cool place! Here are a few pictures from our visit there and a picture Carly took of the Hudson family cat, "Huey".

I love to give and receive flowers! Lilies are one of my favorites... they are beautiful and they smell great! Unfortunately, lilies are extremely toxic to cats. Ingesting even a very small amount of any part of a lily (stem, leaf, petal or even the pollen) can cause acute renal failure (ARF) in cats. If left untreated, ARF is very often fatal. Treatment involves hospital stays with aggressive IV fluid therapy and medications., and sadly, it is sometimes not successful.

Recently, I have seen a few friends post pictures of bouquets they have received, and when I see lilies in them, my mind immediately jumps to the thought "I hope they don't have cats!".

So, if you are purchasing flowers for someone, keep in mind whether they have a cat they love in their home. If so, skip the lilies. If you receive a bouquet, do a thorough check to see if lilies are in the mix. If there are, please be sure to keep your cat away, or better yet, consider giving them to a cat-less neighbor or a nursing home.

Happy Holidays from everyone at Johnson Creek Veterinary Care! This is just a reminder that we will be closed on Friday, December 24th and Saturday, December 25th so that our staff can enjoy time with their families. So please plan ahead if you need any prescription medications or food. Also, we will only be open till noon on Friday, December 31st and closed on Saturday, January 1st for New Years. - Consider the composition of your photo and check out the background. Sometimes we get really cute shots of pets with some less than desirable things in the background.
- Historically, natural lighting tends to produce better pet pictures, so consider getting Fido outside for a photo shoot.

Deadline for submissions is December 15, 2021.
