Happy 4th Gotcha Day to alumni Gwen! She came to us as a tiny puppy with a birth defect, and we can't get over the gorgeous, healthy girl she's grown up to be. Gwen has the best life! Nothing makes Ariel happier than giving affection to her favorite people! This girl is such a sweetheart. She's around seven months old, a healthy, happy, loving cat who's just great with other animals, but even better with humans. She's the first one to greet her foster family when they arrive home! Ariel has the nicest personality and is looking for a home where she'll get plenty of snuggles, cuddles, and love. She's available for adoption on our website.

Brisket always has the biggest smile on his face! He's absolutely loving life in foster care, sleeping inside with a full belly and plenty of friends, and he seems grateful for any kindness shown to him. Brisket is around three years old, a 35 pound lab mix, and this boy gets along with everyone he meets. He's great with other dogs and loves to take trips with his foster mom on her golf cart. He had a pretty sad background that he has fully left behind, and he's ready to start over with a family of his own. This boy doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is super, super sweet. Friends, we've been absolutely drowning lately with requests to help dogs and cats both locally and out of state. It's really hard not to get discouraged! And it's also so hard for us to say no when we're asked to help a dog or cat, but when all of our foster homes are full we have no other option. It's not that we don't have the financial resources, but as a foster home based rescued the number of animals we can help depends entirely upon the number of foster homes we have. Please consider opening your home and heart to a dog, cat, or small animal in need! We have a special need for female only foster homes, and foster homes with no other animals in the household. We want to welcome Bonnie Sara to our rescue family! This sweet and scruffy little terrier mix came to us today from a local shelter. She ended up there after a good Samaritan observed Bonnie and a cat being tossed out of a car window and abandoned. We can't imagine how anyone could be that cruel, especially to a dog this sweet! The cat that she was abandoned with has a meet and greet at the shelter today so he didn't need our help, but Bonnie did so of course we stepped up. Bonnie is now in one of our awesome foster homes and we're going to get her to the vet for shots, schedule her spay, get to know her a little better and then find her a great family. We've just added her to our website and listed her as available, but she's not going to be ready to go to a new home until we've taken care of her vet care. She does seem to know that her life has just gotten a whole lot better, and we're happy to be giving her a second chance!

We've just taken in the cutest little Yorkie mix! He's around 5, his name is Reese, and he's teeny tiny at just 7 pounds. We know his haircut isn't great, but this boy was so matted when he came to us that his foster had to give him an emergency trim just so he could walk and go potty! Underneath all of that tangled fur she found the sweetest little boy ever. Reese loves attention, affection, cuddles, and having fun. We've gotten him to the vet and up-to-date on shots, taken care of his dental needs, and now he's ready to find a family of his own. Reese is available for adoption on our website!

We have the sweetest senior cat looking for a home! His name is Rascal, he's around 10, and this boy has a wonderful personality. Rascal is very loving and affectionate! He loves to talk to his favorite people and to bring them toys which he drops at their feet. He doesn't mind relaxing with other cats, but we are not going to be placing Rascal in a home with dogs. You see, he's terrified of dogs! We don't know what his previous experience has been but it's clear to us that for his own peace of mind he needs a dog free home. He's looking for a special someone who's going to give him a peaceful home with plenty of love to live out his golden years. Rascal is available for adoption on our website.

We just found out that October 27 is the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Mu***os), a day that honors our beloved pets that have passed away. It's bringing up plenty of memories of all of the wonderful animals we've loved and lost. We are blessed to have had so many pets that will always have a place in our hearts!
