We are a foster home-based rescue licensed as a class A rescue in Rhode Island, and are among the largest all-volunteer rescue organizations in New England. Friends of Homeless Animals, Inc. is an approved tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Anyone looking for a dog who's a little older and a little quirky? Meet William! He's an adorable 9 or 10 year old long-haired Chihuahua mix, just 9 pounds, and it takes him a minute to get used to a new environment and a new routine. Once he settles in he's a sweet, low energy, loving companion who does well with other dogs. William has some heart issues and he's on a few medications, and thank goodness his condition is well managed. He would thrive in a quiet home where he could take a little walks, get plenty of rest, and get lots of love and affection. William is available for adoption on our website!

Bella and King are the sweetest love story! They're around five years old and have been together their entire lives, and came to us when their owner passed away. These two are so easy-going and loving, and their bond is really special. They love each other and are never far apart! We're not going to be separating Bella and King and we're hoping to find a family that will adopt them together. Lexie has some big news! A year from the day that she arrived in her foster home her foster family has made it official and adopted her themselves. Lexie is a bit of a handful! But her foster family is experienced with challenging dogs and she's thrived and blossomed into a very good girl and stole her family's hearts in the process. Dip N Dot AKA Dippy is a happy go lucky 7 month old feist mix puppy who loves to have fun with her doggy friends! Dippy is an active, playful girl, and nothing makes her happier than romping around the yard with her doggy buddies. She loves treats, toys, adventures, and playtime, and she'll settle in for cuddles with her humans after a long day of being silly. Gypsy always looks a little freaked out in pictures but nothing could be further from the truth! He's actually a sweet, frisky, loving and playful six month old kitten who loves to be close to his people.
