Jinx!
This made us so happy to see! Jinx scampering around the yard and his foster home, living the good life and enjoying time outside. It's a big deal because Jinx came to us with a limp that we were told was an old injury, but things just didn't look right to us. We brought him in for a consult, and he was diagnosed with a condition called Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease, which is a painful, orthopedic deformity. This boy is young, maybe a year old, and he was suffering. On September 5 he had surgery with a surgeon we know and trust and we're happy to tell you the surgery was successful! Jinx has recovered completely, he's pain-free, and no follow up is needed. He's now ready to find a loving family to grow up and grow old in! Jinx is the sweetest, happiest boy in the world, and it's so great to see him enjoying his life. We've now listed him for adoption on our website!
Dan Dan
Dan Dan arrived in his New England foster home yesterday! He's the kitten who came to us after a botched amputation – his former owner tried to cut his right front leg off after it became stuck in a fence! This boy had suffered, and we were able to get him to a competent vet to have a much-needed surgery and then plenty of TLC in foster care. Dan Dan has adapted beautifully to life on three legs! And he certainly bears no grudges. He's such a little love bug, free with his kisses and affection. This special-needs sweetheart is around 10 months, old, and he's available for adoption at https://fohari.org/available-pets/#action_0=pet&animalID_0=20186757&petIndex_0=26
Lucy Lu's pups
Imagine having 13 mouths to feed! Lucy Lu is the shaggy terrier we pulled a few weeks ago in the nick of time. She gave birth almost immediately after she came in to rescue to a bakers dozen of squirmy, hungry, active little pups. Mom and puppies are thriving in foster care! Stay tuned for more about this little family. We'll be listing them for adoption soon, and hope to have loving homes waiting for them after they're weaned!
