The annual Rt. 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival is a celebration of the rich history of America’s Mother Road. Each of the 16 communities which make up the 100-mile linear museum from Joliet to Bloomington hold various activities during the festival. The Polk-A-Dot Drive In is a HUGE hotspot on Rt. 66 during the festival with high visibility and traffic for vendors as thousands of visitors stop to enjoy the festivities over the two days which will include a classic car show, music & more. Visitors also stop to view the unique Braidwood “Zoo” right across the street featuring a group of cheery animal sculptures by the late Jack Barker. The Braidwood Area Historical Society Museum on Braidwood’s Main Street is also an attraction for visitors to check out while passing through.
