Great new method for backyard gardening: "Straw bale garden", it's catching steam in our area!😀It's a form of a raised bed, well drained, no weeds, and as the bale composts, it is warmer than normal soil and the plants love it.

Here is our first Greenhouse Trial Started 5/13/18 in Oshkosh WI. Initial vegetables were started and grown in greenhouse conditions. We are testing for 2-3 weeks then will be transplanted to garden. We will monitor growth and root development during the time in the greenhouse. Plants chosen: Tomatoes (Early Girl & Beefmaster 90 day), colored Bell and Hot peppers, broccoli and Brussel sprouts, Cucumbers and Zucchini. We have a control and treated flats...all watering and fertilization is as normal, done by greenhouse manager as part of their normal watering. We are treating with Bloomin Minerals liquid foliar feed once a week. Here are the initial plant pictures...We picked plants that were identical in size and appearance. All are healthy plants.

We are looking to do side by side trials in both Animals and Plants. We hope to show how the use of Bloomin Minerals can reduced disease & insects and grow more nutrient dense organic food. This product is certified OMRI and is plant based.

We are looking for home gardeners, greenhouse operations, and field producers of produce , like strawberries, or organinc growers to set up trails and learn about our Program.

Also, we are looking for 4H or FFA instructors or students who are doing Animal nutrition for upcoming County and State Fair projects. There have been studies done in other parts country in Poultry, Goats, Dairy with dramitic results. We would like to recreate that locally.

Bloomin Minerals for Gardens, how to apply!

For gardens, Youngevity Formulator & Chief Quality Control Officer Richard Renton recommends:

BLOOMING MINERALS: Can be used for gardens. For Friut, Vegtables and all Flowering plants.

Richard recommends both granular and the Liquid Bloomin Minerals. Both are excellent for soil and foliar applications for all plants and trees for increase production and plant health from diseases and insects.

Grandular Soil Revitalizer can be broadcasted or place next to plants. 12 # per thousand square feet ot 2 teaspoons per plant in a 6" container being transplanted.

Mix a ratio of 1:120 (1 oz. Bloomin Minerals to 120 oz of water) and foliar feed front and backs of leaves, buds and fruits with a sprayer, boom or other applicator.

TIME AND FREQUENCY OF FOLIAR APPLICATIONS:

It is important to foliar feed grasses, grains, fruit trees or vegetable plants when growing stage is:

1st: Immediately after germination for grains and vegetables and new leaf growth for fruit trees.
2nd: Just before flowering for vegetables and just before fruit appears on fruit trees.
3rd: Just before change of color of grains, fruits and vegetables.

For crops with multiple harvest times (i.e. tomato, cucumber, eggplant, etc..) the ideal frequency is every 7-15 days 2-4x a month), although some farmers use every 10 days for even better results.

How Bloomin Minerals are made;

Humic shale can also be ground into a fine plant flour and soaked for three to four weeks in filtered spring water until it reaches a specific gravity of 3.0, it then provides a high quality plant derived colloidal mineral supplement that contains 38,000 milligrams of plant derived minerals per liter. This product is a potent nutritional supplement that is the basis for many of Youngevity’s multimineral and multivitamin products that are up to 98% absorbable. The leaching process is repeated and the “second pressing” is still full of organically bound plant derived minerals. Humic Shale
“Humic shale” is a unique source of plant derived colloidal minerals. Humic shale originated from plants some 75 million years ago, those lush tropical plants took up the 60 plus metallic minerals available to them from a fertile soil that had as many as 84 minerals. The ancient soil was so rich with minerals that trees grew as much as 25 feet per year and the great brontosaurus attained a body weight of 140,000 lbs with a mouth no larger than that of a horse – the ability of the brontosaurus to attain such a bulk with so little a mouth meant he was consuming plants rich with concentrated mineral nutrients.
A volcanic eruption covered these mineral rich forests with a thin layer of mud and ash, thick enough to create an air-tight “vault” and dried or desiccated the plants into a deep accumulation of “hay”, but not deep enough or heavy enough to pressurize the dried plant material into coal or oil.
