Happy World Honey Bee Day!!!

August 17, 2024

Importance of bees (just to name a few):
*Bees carry pollen between plants to fertilize them which help plants reproduce.
*They produce honey that contribute to human’s lifestyle.
*They also play an important role in the ecosystem making it balance and healthy.

This very important hive was made for a certain veterinary colleague by a 2013 graduate 😉

Why House Calls!?

I have been practicing veterinary medicine in my home town- Richmond, Virginia - as both a general practitioner & emergency veterinarian. Over time, I have seen how stress and disease can negatively affect our pets. Not too long after graduating Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, I “went back to the books” in search of alternative options for my patients. I soon became fascinated with Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and earned a certification in veterinary acupuncture. Studying and incorporating various modalities into my everyday practice has bettered me as a practitioner and as a person.

My compassion for animals and dedication to improving my patient’s overall well-being provided the foundation for my house call practice. A trip to the vet clinic can be very stressful on both you and your pet! In our younger & older patients (or immunocompromised), there is a higher risk for disease transmission at a vet clinic. Additionally, having a veterinarian come to your house can provide valuable information about your pet’s condition based on their environment and/or natural behaviors (which is easier to see while they are in the comforts of their over home. A mobile veterinarian can provide many of the same services your local veterinary clinic offers (with some exceptions).

It is important to note your local veterinary clinic can provide many services, such as X-rays, surgeries, hospitalization and consultation with specialist(s), that a house call veterinarian cannot. Our community is fortunate to have so many wonderful veterinary clinics and 24/7 veterinary emergency facilities. For this reason, I keep all my patient’s records in a cloud-based system. As a client, you can access important information about your pet’s medical history through House Call Vet RVA’s patient portal. My goal is to improve and support your pet’s overall well-being and to provide convenience and consistency through flexibility scheduling and personalized care.

We COME TO YOU
