Dear friends,
Almost 40 years ago I made the decision to make the Lehigh Valley my home and to make Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital the place where I would dedicate my passion for animal care. Along the way I have seen an incredible evolution in this profession as well as in our practice, and have met some of the most amazing and extraordinary people who would indelibly influence my professional and personal growth. Equally important to me are the things that have remained constant…my love for animals of all kinds, my devotion to the fact that I would never stop learning and improving my skills, and the bond that would ultimately keep me in the same practice I started in for nearly 40 years.
Now, the time has come to take a step back and devote more time to my family and the next phase of my life. As of October 3, 2024, I will end full time practice at Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital. My hope is to remain on staff as a part time, seasonal veterinarian as my wife and I will be living in Florida for much of the year.
It is hard for me to express the amount of respect, admiration and affection I have for all of the people I have met on this journey, including the many staff members and veterinarians I have worked alongside, my respected colleagues in the Lehigh Valley and beyond, the knowledgeable service and pharmaceutical professionals who frequented and supported our practice and above all, my clients. I have had the privilege over the last 40 years to meet the most extraordinary clientele I could imagine, and I have worked diligently to earn your trust and confidence in caring for your beloved pets. Together we have celebrated many successes and have endured painful losses. We’ve shared smiles, laughter, hugs and tears. And above all, we have shared the unconditional love and happiness that can only be found in the heart and soul of a pet.
Finally, I want to acknowledge the incredible uplifting force of the love, dedication and self-sacrifice to my career from my wife, family and friends. You have provided the much needed guidance and inspiration along this winding road and I love you all for every moment of it.
I hope to personally see as many of you as possible as I wind down the next two months in full time practice. Beyond that, I can always be reached through the staff of Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital. To each and every one of you, I simply and humbly say thank you.
Sincerely,
David Ferrari, V.M.D.

Did you know that our preventative pricing is comparable to many online pharmacies? While we know that pricing is a huge factor to pet parents when determining where to purchase their pet’s medication, there are many other factors to consider. When purchasing your pet’s preventatives through your local veterinarian’s office, you: -are supporting a local business filled with the people you know and trust with your pet’s care. -get to utilize manufacturer rebates to bring the cost down. -have the security of knowing the medication you are purchasing is actually that specific medication, which is not always the case for online purchases. -know that the purchased medication was handled and stored properly per it’s labelled instructions. -get the comfort of product guarantees for many of the preventative medications purchased directly through a veterinarian’s office. We completely understand the temptation and convenience of online shopping. However, it ultimately comes down to: is it worth the risk? We love our patients, your pets, and want to offer the best level of care to them. Help us continue to achieve our goal by supporting us. #supportlocalbusinesses #veterinaryoffice #lehighvalleyanimalhospital
