OperationBlanketsOfLove.org @obolpaws for providing us with much needed supplies for @spotted_dog_rescue ’s ongoing rescue efforts!
Spotted Dog has nearly 70 animals in its care currently, and so many more having already been adopted this year. What makes them great? Well, in the founder’s own words: “Spotted Dog Rescue was established with the mission to assist as many dogs as possible in finding permanent homes. The inspiration came from my own rescue dogs, particularly Penelope, a frail blue heeler from Kansas who initiated this journey. Dogs like her, whether sick, unwanted, or homeless, are deserving of loving homes.”
Spotted Dog is committed to saving the lives of the unwanted and the forgotten. When pets are on their final days in the shelter, abandoned in the streets, or simply unwanted by the only people they’ve ever known, Amy & Marlee step in to change their lives.
They have taken in a considerable amount of medical cases, providing them with top notch care. They’ve taken in mommas and litters, even as many as ten puppies in one go! If a pet is brought to them, they will do everything they can to help.
In addition, some of our local cities have lost their contracts with municipal animal control agencies and are now having to rely on rescues to pick up the slack. Spotted Dog has already pulled one litter from the affected cities and has plans to continue to support those communities until a more permanent solution can be found.
All animals in the rescue are vetted, vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Then, they go to amazing homes that have applied and been visually verified (home check). Adoption fees only cover the basics, and donations are always needed!

They are not only the most talented photographers (*you have all seen their work as they help so many different rescues and so many dogs), they are Founding Board Members of @thespayceproject and they spend most of their days helping dogs and making this world a better place. Yesterday it was Em and Tay that delivered a truck full of supplies that you have helped us with (*and obviously OperationBlanketsOfLove.org @obolpaws !). They delivered food, toys, supplies, meds, blankets and warm huts for the dogs. They spent the day TARPING and cleaning out an abandoned RV for the dogs, dropping off supplies to all the different people that help us support and feed the dogs of Lucerne. They know the dogs so well and love them so much. They have fostered hundreds of puppies, saved so many dogs and we love them for their huge hearts, their generosity, kindness and talent and we are so lucky to have them as part of our team.
