Sweet and sensitive girl Puri had a great training sesh in Tomlinson's today. 🎉
When she was just a wee pup, Puri struggled to leave the apartment because the hallway was simply overwhelming and very frightening for her.
She's now just shy of 1 yo and gaining confidence like a champ. Way to go!

Nurturing the recall with bouncy puppy LOUIS ✨❤️ . Calling, rewarding with praise and treats and then releasing back to the environment creates a dog that is happy and willing to come every time you call. . As always this behavior is started inside the house (low distraction environment) then brought outside to a more distracting, but known and manageable environment. . Nurturing the recall with baby Louis 🐩

I realize that this is not a very good video (better with music and effects!), however I wanted to share it because baby Louis did SO GREAT during this field trip. . It was cool and windy and his first exposure to this environment (shopping plaza). He was comfortable, able to calmly observe the environment (people, shopping carts, cars, etc.) and eagerly engage with me. . Super proud of this team walking into Lowe's in perfect harmony! . Miss Gracie Marie is a young and sensitive #goldendoodle showing some lovely maturity here with her humom who doesn't normally walk with a cane but is nursing a tweaked back. . The environment is busy, the pace is slow and Gracie stepped right up like she's a pro 🥰 . . . #sdit #trainingisfun #goldendoodlesofinstagram #thestellardog

This is Oliver, or Foliver (like fall+over) as his dad calls him. 🤭 . He has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (look it up, it's interesting!) as you can see in his jerky movements. It does not affect his cognition...he's just an adolescent boy with no previous training experience and a great big dose of "the world is a big scary place!" 😳 . This is not a glamorous video...it's real life training practice for place, let's go (polite leash walking), and leave it. Oliver is not perfect and his humom is learning too (way to go mom!). HOWEVER the improvement from the start of training is massive. 👏 . When I started with Oliver he barely knew how to sit, was pretty frightened of me and very frightened of all other strangers. He had very limited mental stamina, a lot like a very young puppy, and would just lay over and take a power nap(s) in the middle of a training session. SO, to see him working with his mom and chaining together several behaviors AND doing repetitions of the behaviors is kind of AMAZING. #killingit . . . #adoptdontshop #trainingisfun #thestellardog
