The humans here are fattening me up. The pretty blonde loves me. If I were human I think she would leave the tiny brown human for me. Also, on a random note, I hope one day the humans understand that it’s not them giving us dogs second chances it’s the other way around. And dogs give humans a million of them.

A dog doesn’t shouldn’t have to be “viral” to be rescued . There are so many dogs who are ready to go and check off many boxes that will make adapting them into your home much easier. If you’re looking for a dog, go to your shelter. Talk to the volunteers. They know more than anyone so ask them questions! They’ll be happy to help! Biggie has only been here a few days but he came in ready. We are just rounding out a few edges! After we fill out his dating profile he will be up for adoption through !

Logan is not the first emaciated dog we have taken in over the years but those dogs always came off as “wounded” or if I put it into human terms, “sad”. But Logan? Logan is different. You can feel his happiness. His energy is so pure and so good that he makes you forget what he’s been through and fills your heart up with joy whether you thought you needed it or not. If he could talk, he would tell you to let go of it all because it wasn’t happening anymore. And then to really get your mind off it he would offer to take you out for dessert. 😂❤️ That’s Logan. We can all stand to be a little like him.

Also, this post isn’t meant to take away or dismiss what’s happening with the other dogs. This is just a testament to Logan ❤️

Yesterday we met at Weat Vley Shelter and picked our first SOLO Project Dog! It was a very tough decision but in the end picked the dog that checked off all the boxes and needed training more than they needed rehab. And to our surprise, she picked Jill’s favorite dog! Can anyone guess what his name is by the music? 😂

- [x] Because of work, kids , and just the way life was going , became stagnant. But then we saw and it brought us back to why we got into this. Our 7 year old son, who has spent his entire time on this earth being around and loving pitbull type dogs saw the other side of what they go through. Our teenage daughter was also in tears and reminded of the discrimination. Like said, we will probably all be long gone from this earth before any real change happens. We decided to get back in it and eventually pass the torch to our kids someday . Tomorrow we will be launching the S.O.L.O. Project which stands for Saving Overlooked Lives Openheartedly . We will be partnering up with one rescue at a time to pull a pitbull type dog from the shelter and foster that dog as a family. We will document how we foster a dog and ultimately help get this dog adopted. During that time we will highlight the rescue , help raise funds for that rescue and , if needed, will sponsor any training . Once that dog gets adopted we will partner up with a different rescue and do the same. Picking a rescue to start with was difficult as we have made some pretty close relationships with so many but we also know we will get to them all at some point. With that being said our first rescue will be ! will be headed to West Valley Shelter tomorrow with Jill to pick our first dog!

Diary of a foster dog: Day 2

I guess today is “take your foster to work day” and my foster mom just happens to work at a vet! So I’m off to meet her work friends at and get a full checkup! It’s my second “best day ever” in a row!

Diary of a foster dog: Day 1

I left the shelter yesterday. I don’t track time very well but they say I was there for a month. One thing I am good at is recognizing faces and the woman who came to met me came back! She brought this little brown guy with her. I think his name is .johnflores but I prefer little brown guy. I found it amusing how she made him feel like he made the decision to pull me when she already promised me the day before. 😂 They also renamed me, Logan. He’s the name of a superhero named Wolverine. He’s known for his toughness and his ability to physically heal from just about anything. I think it fits. Anyways, I’m not sure what the future hold for me but I do know if I get to see
everyday, the present time is the only thing that matters now. Can’t wait to see what Day 2 brings.

I think the most challenging part of working with dogs is not taking it personal. When Nova arrived she took a couple swipes at me and actually almost got me. But she was also fresh out of the shelter and now somewhere new getting handed off to someone she’s never met before. She absolutely was allowed to have her feelings. Had I taken it personal there’s no way I would’ve been able to connect with her the way I did. Even though she was only here for a short time I wholeheartedly love this dog. She’s now in Pennsylvania where her new dad sends me updates. ❤️ Thank you for trusting us with her! And her dad who I’m not sure has an instagram. 😂

It’s funny how we bring these dogs into our world and then dump them when we don’t have time for them but yet label them these unfair things knowing they will never get a chance to defend themselves and make it almost impossible for them to get adopted. Rescue dogs aren’t “broken”. We are.

Dear mom,

I made it over the rainbow bridge. It’s so beautiful here. Bella and Wally were the first ones to greet me. It was so good to see them. I really missed them. Oh, and did you know June Bug has a donut shop up here? I got my own box of “welcome donuts”. I’m not sure how good they are because I ate them each in one bite.
Anyways, I just want to let you know the past 10 years on Earth with you were the best any dog could ask for. It sure did beat having to steal food out of trash cans. Speaking of food, I know you didn’t get to give me that last meal you like to give all the dogs but I want you to know that the last decade of love I got from you far exceeded any meal you could give me. I’m sorry my body gave out so suddenly. I wasn’t expecting it either. In fact, one of the first things you get when you arrive in heaven is an apology letter from God that says he is sorry that making a dog’s body to last as long as our spirit just isn’t possible. What a wild decade we spent together. I was so over the moon when you decided to adopt me despite my issues. You always saw the good in me and always made me feel so special. Life with you was like having a gotcha day every single day for 10 years. I know I was your heart dog but you were my heart human. I’m really going to miss you and I know you’re sad. But that pain you feel is probably because I couldn’t leave without taking a piece of your heart with me. I’m sorry for that but I needed something to hold as I crossed that rainbow bridge. As far as that hole in your heart? I know you will patch it up with another pittie who needs you as much as I did. Anyways, I have to go. I have to go pick between being a cardinal or a butterfly when I come visit. Spoiler alert, I chose a butterfly and don’t act like you haven’t noticed me hanging around all day. 😉. I love you mom. Tell Dad, Jaidyn, grandma, Camden and Nee Nee hi and I love them when you get a chance. Thank you. For everything.
Love,
Fawn

In 2018 we rescued a family of dogs from some backyard breeders who had to move but couldn’t take their dogs. It was a mom, dad and 5 puppies. At the last second, the owners decided to keep the dad but had told this dog she would come back for him. When the family decided not to take him , Bri followed through on her promise. The mom and 5 puppies were all adopted but Solo has been waiting to be adopted since 2018. has also not done an adoption since 2021. Today we put an end to both of those streaks! Over the years he’s had some pretty solid potential adopters but for one reason or another they didn’t work out. I choose to believe things didn’t work out with them because it was supposed to work out with us all along. He has always been “people selective” but he selected us as his people long before we started thinking about adopting him. With that being said, Solo has officially switched from the family to our family. But let’s be real. He’s been part of the family for years but in this day and age it’s not official until you post on social media. 😂 We love you, Solo. We would like to officially welcome you home. ❤️

As an organization we haven’t really done much since 2021. We hit the “pause button” due to kids, our own dogs, and work. We even thought about just shutting down since we weren’t really doing anything with it. The advocacy was still there but It felt like our fire went from a blaze to small flame on a candle. Then we went to see last night and that fire got reignited. That documentary hit so many emotions that we had grown numb to. We saw how it affected our kids . Jaidyn is almost 16 now. She knows. She’s been in it for over 10 years. And even though we have explained pitbull discrimination to 7 year Camden throughout the years, I don’t think it hit him fully until he saw the movie last night. We used to rescue dogs and go into schools to educate the kids. Maybe we can’t do it at the level we were doing it at but we still can on a smaller scale. and I will be discussing how to do that but the fire is back. And we have to thank for putting out !

PS- Camden made an appearance in the documentary! will be out on Netflix soon!

I’ve been asked by to be part of their Pack Walker Summit. So today at 5pm I will be giving a lecture as a representative of and . This group is pretty damn amazing so when I got asked to be part of it I was a little unsure where I fit in and as I hear the lectures from the other members I’m less sure of what I want to talk about. 😂 So tonight I will share my story from the beginning because to fully grasp where we are now you need to know where I was then. I’m sure many of you have heard this story but I’m sure many of you haven’t so if you’re interested I will be on a zoom with at 5pm PST. Link is in bio or below!

We used to walk 4-5 laps around the park in about 20 min. Now, 11 years later it takes us 20 min to do half a lap. 😂 For some reason, this time at the park so many memories began flashing through my mind. Through the discrimination, the concussions, the hospital visits, the vertigo spells , the beach trips, the fosters and all the dogs we added and helped cross over . S**t, they were even my first tattoos from ! These two have been a constant. They slowed me down enough to “smell the rose” which allowed me to meet . The three of us have been through a lot together and I’m so thankful that I’ve gotten a decade plus with them. Love you Penny and Elvis.

After getting Penny, we were turned away from three different vets before finding one that would accept her under their care. They would say things like “is she gonna bite?” , “are you sure you want to keep that dog?” And my favorite was “Our staff is scared of her so we can’t help you.” That was 11 years ago. Today she gets kissed on the mouth at by and they just love her there. To me, that’s progress. It’s been a rollercoaster ride the past 11 years with her. She made me an advocate for pitbull type dogs and not a day goes by I’m not thankful for that. Love you, Penny.

This picture was 5 years ago. Only Penny and Elvis are still with us from this picture. It goes by fast. And at the end of the day, it’s not about how well trained they were or the commands they knew. It’s about how you made each other feel. You take them in knowing they won’t be here forever and that they will absolutely break your heart when they leave so the least we can do is make them feel wanted in their short time here. Not every dog gets to have a home but we can do our best to always make them feel wanted. Maybe the goal isn’t making sure every dog gets adopted, though that would be the dream, but maybe the goal is to make sure every dog feels wanted.

When adopted Fawn, she had two dog friends. But when we combined homes, Fawn had a tough time adjusting and she had to be an “only dog” in a multi dog household that also fostered. Rehoming her never came up. We just came up with more creative ways to fulfill her while keeping her and everyone safe. Eventually, her age caught up with our skill level but it took years. It didn’t matter, though, because we just took it one day at a time, not putting any pressure on when it would happen. When adopted Fawn, it wasn’t under the condition she had to get along with dogs and neither of us knew just how involved we would be in the dog/rescue world back then. Rehoming her just because our world expanded was jnfair to her and went against our belief system. We believe there’s always a way. It’s just that sometimes the path to what you want takes longer than you would like it to be. We planned the actions we would take and we took action the way we planned ( 😉 ) because it’s easier to take risks with a plan. No, it wasn’t easy at times but it sure as hell has been worth it.

Aside from dogs and a few cats, we have also fostered possums and snakes. And then last night this happened. 😂 Everyome welcome, Lucky. 😍

Farrah spent 365 days in the shelter. Many people hear that and feel sorry for her, and for good reason. But I hear that and think, “Wow. She made it 365 days and was so good she gave zero reasons to be euthanized.” Farrah gets a second shot at life thanks to and we are honored to have the opportunity to fill out her dating profile. ❤️ Welcome to , Farrah!

Dear HumbleK9,

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve last seen you all and things are going great! I haven’t been adopted yet but I don’t mind waiting especially since i have amazing fosters! I still get overly excited sometimes on walks but like you said, we are all a work in progress, right? Well, just wanted to say hi and hope you are all doing well! If you know of anyone that’s looking for a sweet, good looking, crate trained pittie, let know! I’m also a certified “good girl” and could live as on only dog or with other dogs! On top of being adoptable I’m also very adaptable!
Love,

Stormy
