Dear Mom,
You turned my “last days” into a whole year so I could celebrate my “gotcha day” with you. Despite my health conditions you never treated me like I was dying. Instead you treated me like a newborn puppy. I’ve never felt so loved in my life. Out of all the things you gave me, my favorite was your heart. Everything else was just extra. Speaking of hearts. I know my enlarged heart was a medical condition but you filled it with so much love. I truly believe that’s what kept me here for so long. Much like all the other dogs that have been in your care my body could not keep up with my spirit. I know the timing was bad with Christmas being tomorrow but you gave me the gift of peace and I was well enough to get to say goodbye to you, too.

Well, I made it here. I took a little piece of your heart with me. Hope you don’t mind. I needed something to hold on to on my way across the rainbow bridge. There were two dogs waiting for me when I got here. Their names are Fawn and Boris. They showed me the pieces of your heart that they took when they left. In fact, there’s quite a few dogs here who have a piece of your heart. Your heart must be bigger than mine! Totally off topic but I heard there’s an art class here where we can paint our favorite memory on Earth and they just added a music class too led by some dog named, Wally. You know all that barking I did every night? It was just my love song to you and now I get a chance to add some music to it! It’s called “I love you, mom” which is funny because that’s the extent of the lyrics too. So that’s why I didn’t start barking until right before you got home from work. It was just me singing my song to you.
There’s also donut shop here ran by some dog named, June. She says she knows you too. I’m gong to have some donuts with them and we are going to all share stories about you so I gotta go. Thank you for everything you did for me. But most of all, thank you for letting me break your heart before I left. I know another dog will patch the hole I left.

Diary of an Adopted Dog: Day 42

So I spend most of the day sharing a dog bed with my brother, Elvis. I get kind of cold since the weather has changed so has an array of pajamas for me to keep me a little warmer. Life is good.

I wear pajamas and beanies now. Being a first world house pet is wild but I am loved and I am accepted . And I get to see everyday for the rest of my life. I think that’s a fair trade. ❤️

After seeing we decided to get back into rescuing again but this time with the intention of finding a pitbull type dog in the shelter who wasn’t “viral” and also partner up with a different rescue each time. The first rescue we asked was ! We respect and admire Jill and her team so much and we were very happy when they agreed to work with us! The dog we chose was, Biggie. He was ready to go. He didn’t need extensive rehab. He could go to any adoption event and didn’t need a trainer to handle him. has a knack for finding these dogs in the shelter and much to delight this was the dog they were hoping was going to get picked. With that being said, our first SOLO Project dog has been adopted by ! We were over the moon when we found out the news. Happy tails, Biggie!

Diary of a Foster Dog: Day 80

This past Sunday I got to walk the red carpet at . You don’t really understand how special walking on that red carpet is until you’ve walked the cold cement at the shelter into a cold kennel. Ever since came to see me in the shelter my life has done a complete 180. In the past 80 days I’ve met good humans, cool dogs, had good meals and had good sleep. But the coolest thing of all is that I have a mom and dad now! If this were a book the title of the next chapter would be called “Happily Ever After”. This is officially the last entry of my Foster Dog Diary because I’m adopted now! I get to have the “best day ever” every day for the rest of my life. says that every dog deserves to break at least one human’s heart before they leave this earth. How lucky am I that I get two.

So I’ve spent at least 72% of my time awake in the past 36 hours hu***ng a pillow now Tiny Diamond has made this her dog bed. I’m not sure what to think at this moment. But I’m also not judging, just observing. 😎

Everyone meet Blossom! She will be staying with us until it’s safe to go back to ! She’s about 7 years old and she’s had a pretty rough journey but our friends and have done a great job in leaving her past behind . She’s looking for a home to call her own.
