Please take measures NOW to KEEP your pet safe this 4th of July.
If you pet suffers from anxiety make an appointment with your vet to get them medication NOW!

1️⃣Be sure your cat is wearing an up-to-date and visible ID tag on
her collar at all times.🆔️

2️⃣Take a current photo of
your cat, just in case.📸

3️⃣Ask guests to keep an eye out for your cat, to be sure she doesn't escape. 🚪

4️⃣Give your cat a good play session before people come over for any celebrations.🦦🧸

5️⃣Put your cat in a safe, escape-proof room during parties and fireworks.🔇🔕

6️⃣If your cat is afraid of loud noises, leave gentle music playing to cover the fireworks.🎶

7️⃣Keep charcoal, fireworks, sparklers and glow sticks far from curious cats.🚫👎

Begin preparing your pet now for the 4th of July. Update microchip information, consult your veterinarian regarding calming medication and prepare a quiet room with a TV or radio for the peak fireworks period. If you are hosting guests, ensure your pets are securely, comfortably confined to prevent accidental escape. Fireworks can be terrifying for all animals, so prioritize their safety and well being.

Our philosophy is the cats and kittens we've taken in are forever in our hearts and should be forever a part of your family if you adopt from us. Our #1 priority is the happiness and well being of the kittens/cats, even after adoption. Moving from one family to another, one home to another is very, very stressful for cats in general. A shelter environment is highly stressful which is why if we misjudged you and you need to rehome one of our cats we insist that they come back to us and not any shelter. Although we do have a very tiny return rate, maybe 1 a year, we see how stressful it is on the cats we've raised. I understand shelters doing the bogo, because the spay/neuter laws are not being implemented. But in reality how many of the adoptions end up being life long? 99% of our adoptions are life long because of our stringent adopt policies and we are always here to help with minor issues should they arise. In Loving Memory Of Ross

On July 21st, 2015 we got a call about a very sick kitten. She was found outside in a feral colony. When I first saw her, she was tiny, cold, pale, lifeless. I drove straight to the vets office with the heat on. Dr. Freiberg saw her right away. She had a bad upper respiratory infection. Her eyes were glued shut. She was wheezing. She had a heart murmur. He said “Take her home, love her. I don’t know if she’s going to make it 24 hours. Prepare yourself. She needs a miracle. Work a miracle Shira.”

I never had a doubt in my heart the she wouldn’t make it. Sissy didn’t think she’d be alive the next morning. I brought her home. I prepared a bottle, made rice socks and cozied up a carrier. I gave her a warm bath with Dawn Dish soap, carefully putting a ring of it around her neck so the fleas could not race to her head. We put towels in the dryer to warm them up. She refused the bottle, but did gulp down some warmed up canned food. I held her throughout the night, listening to her faint cries.

I don’t know why, we just assumed she was a boy. She was a dilute orange tabby. 80% of tabbies are males. I named her Ross. That same day, a musician that I know, his father passed away. His name was Ross. Joey Ramone’s middle name was Ross. And this little one would need some divine intervention to help her along. Many moments I just thought, breathe little one. Just keep breathing. She did not stand. She could not lift her head. She was beyond weak. I was attempting to feed her every 2 hours. She got so weak she could not eat, so we’d syringe feed her a little at a time.
