Year Update! 2023/2024

March is special to Loyal Looks Dog Grooming because that is when I made the decision to go mobile, now 4 years ago. I wanted to create a business progress update and express some hopeful future goals! I feel as current customers and future, you have a right to know. In many ways, choosing me to take care of your babies is investing in my business!
December of 2023 I reached my goal of paying off the van!
This time last year Loyal Looks hired the first W2 employee.
Summer of 2023 was rough and I was at a cross roads having to make a decision as a business owner. Purchase a new generator or trading in my current van for a larger new one along with a brand new van purchase cost.
I decided on the new generator. That's been an unexpected cost among other unexpected repairs.
2024 is a new year with new goals.
Jennifer is in need of training and Loyal Looks plans on sending her to a professional grooming academy as I personally do not have the time to train her further.
Once a groomer with a more advanced skill level is apart of the team I'll be better able to consider adding a van to the business. Allowing Loyal Looks to take on more customers but also not spread current groomers (Myself and Jennifer) thin.
Summer of 2024 I will be closing and not operating for the hottest 2 weeks of the year. As we get closer to that time I will be keeping customers in the know. This is in hopes of avoiding damage to my equipment and for the safety of us.
During the month of March I will be celebrating by adorning your babies with bandanas, neck ties or bow ties!
I'm sorry I do not post more frequently. It should speak to the truth of how busy I stay. I hope to have only good things to report March of 2025!
Your babies are my babies and Loyal Looks loves them all!

Dear Loyal Looks Customers

This summer has once again been difficult. The extreme heat is something we contend with daily. Some of you may have known about my struggle last year with my generator. I had to make a decision recently whether to get a new van or reinvest in my current one. I’ve decided to do the latter as that was the more reasonable option. Unfortunately my generator has given out before my new one has arrived. For the next month I will be needing to plug in once again. If you are a current customer and have questions about me plugging into your home please feel free to reach out.

I have also been informed of a nationwide shortage of Dog Groomers. I get calls constantly because groomers in our area stop working for various reasons and many are in need of professional services. To my current customers and future customers inquiring, I have a wait list of clients in need of my services that numbers 100+ people.
Due to the high demand, the money needed to provide excellent service, and maintaining an employee, raising my prices is inevitable. It’s something I don’t take joy in doing and try my best to be reasonable. In fall/winter of 2023 you will be informed of any price changes and when those price changes will take place.

It still isn’t too late everyone!! February is pet dental month! I do know of some vets in our area offering a discount for dental cleaning. Be sure to take advantage of this if you can. I suggest this be done at least once every 5 years. Also a good opportunity to get blood work done and make sure everything is running smoothly.

To All Current and Inquiring Customers
In order to combat and recover from rising prices I have made the decision to adjust prices on certain services that have not been adjusted since I have started mobile. Not everyone will be effected by this price adjustment. To be clear I will be giving a breakdown of my prices and discounts I offer. The change will not be applied until after I have personally notified you.
In order to aid in the care for my generator I will be offering an incentive to allow me to plug in. This saves gas and hours on my generator. So if you have been approved by me for plug in service I will offer a 5% discount. (if you are not already receiving a discount)
Also in an effort to scale back and scale down I will not be offering haircut services for large or extra large dogs. This applies to brand new clients that I add from my wait list. If you are already an existing client and expand your pet family to include a large or extra large breed I will try my best to accommodate but just understand the availability is very limited and frequency of visits may need to be adjusted.

Update on My Generator!
Thanks to Williams Diesel my generator is up and running! I also wanted to give a big thanks to Brazoria RV Specialist. These are two local businesses that work very hard and did so for me to get me up and running again.
Look out for a post tomorrow about some updates on how I intend to operate.

Hello All Loyal Looks Customers,

Just wanted to post a brief update. As of now I am still plugging in. It may be this way for a little bit (maybe through the summer) but I am actively working on solutions to the issue. In the meantime, only because of the extreme heat, if you cannot accommodate me plugging in and being able to run the A/C the entire duration of the groom I cannot come to perform services. This is for the safety of your baby and myself. I have become more confident in plugging in. Unfortunately there are some homes though that just cannot accommodate. Id be happy first to come by and plug in and let you know if it will work out or not before canceling. If you have any upcoming appointments and are concerned feel free to reach out to me.

Morning to all Loyal Looks customers,
I did want to address the issues with my generator. It will be fixed but it is going to take some time.
In the meantime I will be able to go electric. I can plug in to your home I just have to be able to do so on two different circuits in order to avoid tripping your breaker.
That being said, if you do not have an outlet or generator like that I did have the ability to split the power pull bug unfortunately in order for me to have running A/C a different part will need to be replaced. The part is ordered and as soon as it is installed I will be able to operate plugged in. With it as hot as it is outside I cannot risk operating without A/C for the safety of your baby and myself.
I really do appreciate your patience. I did want to let you know I am trying my best to be back on the road.
Also I wanted to take this opportunity to encourage others who professionals to care for their clients and be truthful. It was absolute laziness on the part of the mechanics I hired to take care of my generator that has caused me to be in the position I am in. And now you as the clients are affected.
I will be posting updates as things are repaired and changed.

I had a friend tell me dog hair can be used to ward off pests in the attack and around your garden! Next time you’re brushing your baby be sure to keep this in mind!

I would be mindful using dog hair for birds nests. It sounds great but the topical flea medicine can be toxic for the birds.

Time to put my tons of dog hair to good use 😅

A note to all my customers
Seeing as February is just around the corner and I may as well address Hurricane season I wanted to inform how I will carry out business in case another natural disaster occurs.

Because it can become very difficult for me to obtain gas, liquid propane and at times water I will make the decision to halt and cancel services until "normalcy" is restored. If you are a customer on a regular rotating schedule then the appointment will be canceled and I will resume services on the next auto set appointment date and time. However if you are not on a schedule then I will do my best to reschedule your appointment at a later date.
I work in the elements and the only real problems have been ice on the roads, flooding and debris after a bad storm.
I love everyone's babies and in order for me to continue to provide services I will need to take all this into consideration when these natural disasters occur.
I appreciate everyone staying up to date with me and your patience!

Just a reminder to everyone….
Please pay attention to what you do feed your fur babies. I’ve heard recently several severe sick cases and there’s a possibility it could be connected to their food. Recently several well known dog food brands have been recalled.

I’m not on the up and up when it comes to the best dog food but some things I recommend considering…if it’s sold at a grocery store/drug store…it’s probably not good quality and if it’s very high in protein to watch the portions given. (Given the activity of pet)
