Please say hello to Hardy! He hails from the Lee County shelter in Sanford, NC, and he's so grateful to have a chance at a new life now! He's a little over a year old and weighs about 45 pounds. And if you're looking for a jogging or hiking companion, he would love to take you up on that! Hardy tested well with other dogs at the shelter and gives frequent kisses to his humans. He is housebroken and crate trained and would love his own fenced yard in which to run and play! If you're up for a game of fetch, he will gladly oblige!
So if you'd like to add a little fun to your life, then you may want to consider Hardy. He will make you smile! He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative.

The dog scanner says he is a wonderful blend of Australian Cattle Dog, Portuguese Podengo and Australian Kelpie.

Adorable puppy Cesar has received 0 (yup, zero) enquiries and we can't help but think it's our fault, as we didn't post the best pictures for him initially... so here are some more pictures of him, he deserves to be shown off! Cesar is the only male puppy in the litter of eight. Beatrice gave birth to Cesar and his seven siblings on December 3. Cesar has a great personality and has learned how to navigate his seven sisters quite well. He is now nine weeks old, about 11 pounds and a lot of fun. He looks as though he has beagle in him but Beatrice looks more like a mini black and white lab. She's only about 30 pounds. Dad is an unknown entity.
Like his sisters, Cesar is funny, smart and entertaining. No, not housebroken yet but his fosters are working diligently on potty training. He and his sisters are a loving pack of puppies and love to cuddle and be held. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in adopting Cesar.

Last but definitely not least, here is Maggie! Maggie is the largest of Beatrice's eight puppies. She now weighs in at 13 pounds or so. She has an outgoing personality and has deemed herself the protector of her siblings but in a nice way! Maggie is very sweet like all the rest and she is also quick to join in playtime! Her breed may be a mystery but her good looks are a sure thing! Her mom has the look of a mini black and white lab/Brazilian terrier and Dad is an unknown entity, but the dog scanner suggests that she may be a blend of Parson Russell Terrier and Fox Terrier, wire coat.

And Maggie may be the leader of the pack but she still is funny, smart and a lot of fun. She is not housebroken yet but she is a work in progress. Molly is one of eight puppies born to Beatrice on December 3. She has the cutest white marks on her nose which really set her apart from her siblings. She is now nine weeks old, about 12 pounds with the sweetest disposition. Her mom was less than 30 pounds when she became pregnant so we think Molly may be smallish like her mom who has the look of a mini black and white lab/Brazilian terrier.

She is now nine weeks old, about 11 pounds and delights in playing with her siblings! Would you believe that this gorgeous girl (Heidi) was found in a field with a frayed tether around her neck? She is the epitome of the perfect dog: super sweet personality, great on a leash, housetrained, crate trained and gets along great with other dogs. Totally non-reactive.

The vet thinks Heidi is between 2 and 3 years old. She is now spayed and fully vaccinated with a weight of 81 pounds. Obviously, Heidi is a German Shepherd Dog and so mannerly and polite. She would make a great partner for Rex (from the TV show "Hudson and Rex") because she is so well behaved.

Whoever adopts this dog is going to have such a gem! She was totally calm when a rottweiler came charging at her in the vet's office and didn't even move. She makes a wonderful companion in the car and walks gently on a leash. Could you ask for anything more? Heidi is waiting for a forever home just as wonderful as she is!

This beautiful dog is only a year old (as of December 3, 2024) and has had formal training so she is very well behaved with excellent manners. She is house trained and loves to play in the yard--really enjoys a game of fetch! She comes when she is called and will happily leap into a car to go for a ride. She also loves to go hiking and enjoys outdoor activities but is grateful for some down time in the home. She thrives on attention from her humans and her favorite place is in someone's lap! She is good with other dogs and her friendly demeanor makes her popular with everyone she meets.

Hickory is only 45 pounds and walks well on a leash. She is being spayed on January 23 and will be eligible for adoption after that date. She is fully vaccinated and heartworm negative.

Roxie’s story is heart-wrenching yet inspiring—she’s a true testament to resilience and the power of love and care. This 8-year-old Husky/Lab mix (DNA Tested) has overcome incredible odds and deserves a home that will cherish her for the beautiful soul she is.

After enduring severe neglect that led to severe health challenges, Roxie has made remarkable progress. Thanks to dedicated care, she’s healthier and happier than ever. Her infections are under control, her coat is growing back, and she’s gained much-needed weight. Despite her heartworm-positive status and kidney failure, Roxie continues to light up every room with her vibrant personality and loving nature.

Roxie is the ultimate companion—playful, affectionate, and full of life. She adores car rides, stuffed toys, and playing fetch (even if retrieving isn’t her strong suit!). Her warm demeanor extends to everyone she meets, from people to other animals, including her friend Chester the cat. She even talks to you in her unique way, spreading joy and positivity.

We want Rosie to go to a loving family who can give her the attention she needs. She is high energy and needs stimulation, frequent walks with her easy walk harness, and playtime with her owner. She eats two meals a day of 4Health Strive 87 (the red bag) by Tractor Supply. She gets one cup in the morning and one cup at night. We give it to her as doggy cereal. She for some reason does not drink water so we make sure to fill up her food bowl with water. Rosie will chow down so we use a slow feeder bowl for her. We have found that this food and feeding schedule helps keep her within her healthy goal weight of 40-45lbs. She is on medication for incontinence and Trifexis but other than that she is healthy. We give her incontinence medication with each meal and Trifexis on the first of the month. Rosie is doggy door trained to have access to the backyard to go to the bathroom and run around and play. She has become accustomed to sleeping downstairs while we were getting her incontinence under control. Rosie is also crate trained though we have not crated her in quite a while. She is mostly American Staffordshire terrier, some Rottweiler and American Bulldog even though she is listed on the SPCA paperwork as a boxer mix. She is 5 years old and an absolute sweetheart. She loves cuddling on the bed or the couch even though we have not let her in our bed for the past year and have been trying to break her of getting on the couch. She was previously in a home with other dogs who would rough house and beat her up so she should not be housed with other dogs. We are not sure how she is with cats though we believe it would be a similar situation. She does dart after rabbits, squirrels, and birds in the back yard. We have a baby and ever since she was born Rosie seems jealous that someone else is getting the attention she once had. We think she would do best in a house with older children who could run and play with her and without other animals.
