We breed only to produce exceptional health, temperament, conformation, and hunting abilities. At Claddagh, only proven working dogs that conform to the standard, have sound temperament, and CHIC health tested are bred from. William Bastian has been involved in sporting dogs his entire life. He has been training and competing professionally since 2010. William's training methods, using a positive,
calm, consistent approach has led to well over 200 titled dogs, and countless exeptional gun dogs for their owners. He has trained dogs across the US, as well as Canada, Australia, Europe, and England. William is an AKC Senior Hunt test and Field trial judge, with the honor to judge several National events. He is currently apprentice judging for the NAVHDA organization. We are extremely proud of our breeding program and training techniques, and invite anyone to come visit anytime!

From Wisconsin to Montana the Claddagh Crew represented today!
In Montana, and “Nara” Tickencote Tears of Pearls UT1 earned a maximum score of 204 points for a Prize 1 in her Utility Test with the Sharptail NAVHDA Chapter, earning a ticket to the big show at the 2025 NAVHDA Invitational in Iowa.
Meanwhile in Wisconsin at the GWP Specialty, beautifully handled:
“Cyrus” CH Tickencote Truly Madly Deeply UT2 won Best of Opp in Gun Dog Sweeps and Select Dog for a 5 pt GCH major. Co-owned with Beth Schmidt, bred by Peter Howard and Una Russell
“Casey” Claddagh’s Night-Time Adventure won Winner’s Bitch and Best of Winners for a 5 pt major. Owned by Reilly Matelski. Co-bred with Gregg & Jill Helm
“Rune” Claddagh’s Countdown To Midnight SH UT1 won Best in Veteran Sweepstakes. Co-owned with Beth Schmidt

*Updated - Quercus has found a home ❤️
Due to unfortunate passing of his owner, Quercus, a 4 yr old gwp is looking for a new home.
Quercus is use to living indoors. He earned a NAVHDA NA Prize 1 /112, was hunted every season, is steady to wing, swims, and retrieves to hand.
Kid-friendly. Dog-friendly. Chicken-friendly. Intact. No health issues.
Quercus was very much loved and adored by his late owner and daughter. An adoption donation to the daughter’s Edvest college fund is accepted.
Currently in WI, will be making way to us in Montana next week.

Up for consideration!
We keep two pups from each litter to grow up for potential breeding and personal hunting dog prospects. We have made our decision for keepers and now have started and finished GWPs available. All have had at least one season of wild bird hunting, formal obedience, and are crate trained. These youngsters have been primed and are ready to provide a helluva season!
Pedigrees with generations of VCs, DCs, MHs, UTs, and CHs. Health-tested parents. All are prospects for advanced field testing, conformation shows (except black/white), and breeding. All will remain co-owned until 1.) spayed/neutered, or 2.) Earn advanced field title and CHIC health tested with normal results.

“Ripley” CH Claddagh’s Proof There Are Aliens UT1 finished her AKC conformation champion this past weekend, becoming our 13th Claddagh-bred German Wirehaired Pointer to earn a NAVHDA Utility Prize and AKC show champion! There are only approximately 20 GWP to reach such accolades.
At only two years old, Ripley earned a NAVHDA Utility Prize 1 at the end of August, had a bang-up hunting season, then finished her champion title only a week after the season ended. We look forward to cheering her and her housemate, Quinn, on at the NAVHDA Invitational in Ohio this year.
Significant kudos to Ripley’s owners, Mike and Kay Mathias, for investing time and dedication to provide Ripley the opportunities to fulfill her potential. We are extremely proud and honored ⭐️

Wishing a massive congratulations to our dear friends Una Russell and Peter Howard for making breed history with ‘Tetley’ as the first male GWP to become a Dual Champion in the UK, and the only second Dual Champion in the breed, after his dam ‘Vindy’ Dual CH Tickencote Talk Tonight.
Tetley is sired by our late Bisto, whom Una sent to us and co-owned. Bisto has sired only five litters in the US and 1 in the UK and has been awarded multiple times as GWPCA Top Producing Sire. He produced numerous show champions, NAVHDA Utility prizes, NAVHDA VC, Master Hunters, Senior Hunters, and now a UK Dual Champion. He never failed to produce a great combination of temperament, structure, and field abilities.
Well done and incredibly well deserved, Una and Peter, for breeding, raising, training, and handling your second-generation Tickencote Dual Champion! Kudos to Sharon Pinkerton of Bareve GWP’s for also piloting Tetley in conformation!

Yesterday we finished our testing season with three new NAVHDA Utility Prize holders! Claddagh’s Ruthless One earned at UT Prize 2 w/ 176 points. ’s Pudelpointer ‘Gila’ earned a Prize 1 w/ 201 points and ’s Bracco Italiano Angus earned a Prize 2 w/ 195 points.
The next 5 months will be spent hunting wild birds with some finely polished dogs and 6 baby bird dogs!
