Pack hike this weekend!

I’ll be hosting a FREE pack hike this Saturday at 8:30 AM. We’ll meet at Judge Magney State Park and we’ll hike the Timber Doodle trail (only 1 mile).

There’s no registration, just let me know if you’d like to join the pack.

What’s a pack hike?
Pack hikes are a fun and relaxed opportunity to connect with your dog, coexist amongst other dogs and humans, exercise, and brush up on training and handling skills.

Rules for the hike:

1. Owners must carry p**p bags and water for their dog. Treats are handy to have too ☺️
2. Absolutely no Flexi/retractable leashes or long lines. 6ft leashes or shorter.
4. Advocate for your dog. If your dog needs more space just tell those around you.
5. Please do not pet or approach other dogs during pack walks. No nose to nose interactions. This is a time for you to connect with your dog while coexisting around others.

Following these simple rules allows safety for all.

I’ll be there rain or shine so dress for the weather 🐾☺️

*Please note that dogs dealing with behavioral issues and/or dog/people aggression are not allowed on pack walks due to everyone’s safety. If this might be your dog, please send a message, I’d be more than happy to discuss one on one training opportunities.

Meet Blaze (AKA Blaze Blazeman, cuz you know, every dog has to have a million nicknames).

Blaze is from 🐾 thank you both.

At first I was afraid Blaze wasn’t a good fit because he was scared for a while. But after Rohn passed, the day I came home, Blaze was a completely different dog. Perhaps it was a dominance issue. I like to think that Rohn’s spirit let Blaze know that it’s ok here and he doesn’t need to be scared. Thank you, Rohnny.

I’m so happy Blaze is our first sled dog to start our kennel 🙏🏻 I’m excited to learn from him and see where life takes us.

Puppy class day two 🐾

We started sits and downs, foundations of place, taking collars on and off and collar grabs, name and recall games, kennel, thresholds, no jumping, heel without a leash, and of course some play time!

Is that a lot to do in an hour with puppies? YES! But I’d rather touch on a bunch of little things for a little bit than have them get bored only doing a few things.

Each one of them has grown since last week, woofda!

You may have noticed that pics I take while training are truly terrible but it’s all in the name of dogs 😂

Tonight Betty worked on being out in public, trying not to hyperfixate on her surroundings, loose leash walking, and being calm as the world goes by.

This pic was at the end of our session, I think she was half exhausted from learning and realizing the calm is nice 🥰❤️

Thank you all for the bday wishes. It was a good day that turned dark.
Without sharing the traumatic details, Rohn had an unexpected medical episode that turned into an emergency. Rohnny fought hard to recover but he let me know it was his time early morning 8/20.
Teddy and I are purely heartbroken and have never felt such pain.
I encourage us all to be more like Rohn. Be happy, kind, and gentle.
Thank you all who have been checking in with us, we’re trying to be ok, all the love we’ve received is getting us by.
