“Happy Lot Farm and Garden: Growing a better tomorrow”

Happy Lot Farm and Garden is a testament to what one person with vision and will can accomplish. Once the site of a Section 8 housing complex, Happy Lot sat empty—an eyesore full of weeds and trash—for many long years. o a happy lot, a place where neighbors could feel a sense of community, and most importantly, have access to healthy, organic food that they could grow themselves. Current features of the farm include many raised beds, spiral garden, trellis alley, raspberry patch, beehive, a diverse flock (turkeys, chickens, and ducks), greenhouse, orchard, and mural. The door is always open to anyone and everyone who wants to visit, learn about gardening, roll up their sleeves, or pick their own produce. Happy Lot is all about building community, beautifying our neighborhood, and growing great grub!
