Don't be fooled by coincidence when it comes to your dogs health.

Vinnie has been pretty stable for some time in terms of his food intolerance and low level gastrointestinal issues. He isn't good with red meat and can't go long without food in his belly.

I came across a new food which is plant based, Omni Pet Food is meat free and absorbs well which could really suit Vin.

I had him on it, thought he was better but I didn't record it properly so it could have been a fluke. So he is going back onto his normal dog food... proper diary, and then back onto Omni Dog Food.... proper diary continued!

Then I will hopefully have a bit more of a solid and reliable idea of whether the new pet food is more suitable for Vinnie.

Results on the way!

Any signs of illness or behaviour change should mean a trip to your vet. Making good records of any change of food will massively help your vet understand any continuous issues you are having!!!!!!

Top 3 Simple ingredients to dog ownership

No degrees, or PHDs, not being an amazing and super qualified dog trainer, no special programme on TV you watch religiously, not swallowing a million books and not being in a certain line of work with dogs e.g. Rescue, Police, Army (all of which may of course be a benefit)

But, overall it comes down to you as a person and having the ability to show these qualities

Common Sense
Empathy
Kindness

Some might be harder work for some people (my common sense can be BAD), but you don't need to over complicate it

OK so Holly isn't looking into the camera so she doesn't deserve her dinner later...... 😆

Sometimes I think owners can hang on to the idea of "consequences" to behaviours beyond the point of the present moment as a way to "teach the dog a lesson". I get that it can be a difficult mind shift but if you want to progress through challenges, this is one of the first ideas that we need to put aside.

Live in the moment, let go of the stress, relax and pull stupid faces at the same time as your dog yawning, it's a fun game!

Today is National "Cuddle your dog instead of bringing in the washing that you left out I the rain" day.

The things cuddling our dogs makes us feel better about!

There is of course Scientific Evidence out there that supports the idea that dogs do have many positive impacts on us humanoids...

But... nothing can beat the anecdotal feeling I have now cuddling Bagel and looking at the washing getting drenched, unashamed and very happy.

Bit of morning sarcasm? 😆

Dog owners shouldn't have to explain why they would prefer other dogs not to come belting over to them.

All kinds of dogs are out there walking, as well as owners. No one should walk out their house preparing to fend dogs away from their old, less physically able or "sensitive" four legged friend.

Also....... it doesn't take much for a scared dog being intimidated on lead (where they can't escape) to become more difficult to manage around dogs on walks. This in turn could impact your dog should you bump into them again... and the cycle continues
