I've never been so disappointed to be called an equestrian and to work in this industry.
We have to do better! the never ending manipulation, back stabbing, lies, gossip, cruelty, and hypocrisy. It's like middle school but we've all gotten so much better at it, as we are adults now and have a lot more practice.
Ill admit that I too got sucked into this endless rat race to keep up with the biggest barns, the nonstop battle between professionals to be number 1.
But we don't realize how bad its gotten till its too late. Till we see the damage we've done to the children around us.
Look at what we've taught the next generation! We are role models to these kids, our students, our clients.
We've created monsters. They've watched us berate each other and tear each other apart in this industry.
The amount of times I've had to sit down with a group of 32 teenage and pr***en girls and deal with the bullying, the gossip, the hurtful words. They've learned it from us and it has to stop. I've never been so ashamed to be involved in this industry and in my barn, it ends today!
Encourage each other, guide each other, be kind and patient as we teach the next generation. If we are disappointed in how they turn out, we have no one but ourselves to blame. We must stop sucking the life and fun out of the whole reason we all got into this profession in the first place.
