Two of my regulars, Daisy and Scout, sisters. Daisy is 10, Scout 2. I started seeing Daisy over a year ago for her hips and struggling to get up the basement stairs. Scout has no issues, she gets a massage to show her how to settle down and accept human touch by someone other than Pet Parents, but I do work on her hips as well.

Good day for a food puzzle! This is a level two and Ms.ippi's first try, as you can see she finally figured out how to slide the red ones and open the lids. This kind of enrichment is as tiring as physical activity.

No medication for this 10 year old Emma. Her Pet Parent wants to try Massage therapy first to see if she can get some relief from tired ache joints. She's been a hunting dog up until this winter. Emma will be coming every other week until she shows improvement (which should be only a couple sessions) then only as needed. She should be able to retire feeling her best!! 🥰

The Hike with Ike 30 Miles in 30 days challenge has begun!

September is Ike's gotcha month, but did you know it's also pet pain awareness month as well?

Here are some common signs of pain in your pet from the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management

-Decreased Activity
-Not going up or down stairs
-Reluctance to jump onto surfaces
-Difficulty standing after lying down
-Decreased appetite
-Over grooming or licking a particular area

If you notice any signs of those signs contact your vet

Ike has come a long way, but he is already getting some arthritis in his joints from being overweight/obese most of his life. Low impact exercises like walking and the underwater treadmill are easy on his joints, as well as monitoring his diet and taking joint supplements.
