Small dog rescue:
We believe in the quality of our adoptions, not the quantity. We take extra time and effort to ensure that our adopters and our animals are carefully screened so that we can provide the best match for both the adopter and the pet. We don't believe in that "impulse" decision where you can take the dog home as soon as you fill out an application. We know from experience that this
can result in heartbreak, for the dog and the person adopting. Oftentimes, we won't offer an animal for adoption until weeks, sometimes months have gone by in our care so that we can determine its needs and personality. Additionally, we will not adopt to the first person who applies for an animal. Our job is to prepare each dog for its new adoptive home, however long that takes and however much effort it requires - we take them to the first "level"; the adopter's job is to take it from there. Our animals come to us from many different places: high kill "shelters", strays, puppy mills, backyard breeders and owners who would rather not give their family member to a shelter or a "pound" when circumstances prevent them from keeping them. We will also help out other rescues when we are able, who are full and can't keep an animal.
Zeus made it home to the Oregon coast this evening. We met them in medford today. Suki the other cat they adopted was glad to see Zeus. Zeus has blossomed with Terry and I and is over 20 . He did have surgery on that ear and should eventually finish absorbing. He will continue his training with Sam and family. What a blessing to find indoor only cat knowledgeable homes for these two Savannahs!!!
I guess Suki has picked her person in Sierra! Such a blessing for this cat! And they are adopting Zeus! We are driving to Medford to meet them.... yay!

Suki got a FABULOUS HOME TODAY. She will be living on the coast up in oregon.Sam and her daughter drove down from Oregon, and drove back to day with their new family member. P.s. Suki has a Bengal big brother name Spencer. HAPPY TRAILS TO ALL!

This is a little Maltese Kathy and I took in as a resq.It has been years ago. She had to have all her flea infested hair cut off, when we got her. She was skinny looked terrible. LOOK AT HER NOW! Guess moral of story is, when you go to adopt a new family member from a animal shelter don't worry about cosmetics, they can't help what they look like, BUT INSIDE THEY STILL HAVE PLENTY OF LOVE TO GIVE YOU!!! Please consider a dog that needs a home, as a new family member. Shelters are crowded they are doing their best but need everyone's help! ADOPT, DONATE, VOLUNTEER....
Well took my annual shelter trip right b4 my birthday every year to a shelter to take a dog or dogs out. Guess it's my way of rewarding myself for hanging in there for another year. This is the newest little girl that got to get out of a northern CA. Shelter today.This is her going for a ride. She is a little Boston that came into shelter as a stray. I drove down and got her today. Only good days ahead. Her new name is Minnie.

PEOPLE WE HAVE A PHONE # TO TEXT..... 530 524 2327.... I just got a msg. From someone her client, had em. Had to dump 2 adult dogs and puppies. So I didn't answer right away she took them to local shelter. And I made a comment about hope they were going to be o.k. and she let me have it, and sd. Since I didn't contact her, so she took them to shelter that basically I was in the wrong for saying anything! Well you know she didn't say anything about her arms being broke ,so SHE COULDN'T TAKE THEM HOME.Cracks me up people can't help the animal themselves, and criticize the ones that help as much as we can!
