Greenville Humane Society The Greenville Humane Society is one of the largest no-kill shelters in the southeast.

The Greenville Humane Society is one of the largest no-kill shelters in the southeast, just behind Atlanta. Since we changed locations in 2011, we have placed over 48,000 animals in their forever homes. Beyond adoptions, we also have one of the largest public low cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics in South Carolina. If you’d like to learn more about the Greenville Humane Society and the services we offer, visit our website at www.greenvillehumane.com.

The Anderson Family has been an integral part of the ongoing success of the Greenville Humane Society for decades. Bella’s story is just one small piece of their continued compassion and unfaltering love of all animals. Each family member has welcomed, cared for, and provided for many homeless animals in our community – and their legacy will live on forever.

With only two days left in 2024, there is no better time to give. Your year-end gift will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of the Anderson Family Foundation. They have committed to matching all donations up to $400,000 in support of our capital campaign expansion. Your year-end gift will double the impact on pets in need in our community, the Southeast, and beyond.

As we close out the year, we remember Bella. We remember the incredible impact she made on the lives of her family and the love that will live in their hearts for a lifetime. We’ve been honored to save hundreds of thousands of pets since inception, just like Bella. In fact, you may have your very own ‘Bella’ that has left a pawprint on your heart. Together, we can honor their impact and leave a legacy that will last a lifetime.

Now is your chance to be part of that legacy. There is no better time to get involved. Double your gift today by:

We’ve reached our goal for Hope’s Christmas Miracle! 🎉 Your incredible love and support will make her healing possible, and we can’t begin to thank you for always stepping up for those that need it most. Thank you - from the bottom of our hearts. When we say we have the best community… we mean it.

The day Hope came in, we noticed she had a runny nose and was coming down with a puppy cold. She’s currently being treated for URI, but still has an appointment today at Upstate Vet to look into next steps for our sweet girl. We’re hopeful to come up with a swift treatment plan for her and will continue to share updates on how she is doing!

Each of you gave her a chance for a Christmas Miracle. And her smile says it all. She knows she’s safe. She knows we’ve got her back. All of us.

UPDATE 3:40PM: All have been adopted! 💚

UPDATE 11:50AM: Butterball has been adopted, the other 3 siblings are still available. Their adoption fee is $500 each, which covers their spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations and microchip. As a no-kill shelter, their adoption fees help offset the incredible costs of caring for thousands of other homeless pets that have a typically longer length of stay. If you’re interested in meeting them, please stop by the Adoption Center. You can also check our website to see if they are still available: https://www.greenvillehumane.com/adoptable-pets/. We are turning off comments due to the incredible response and so we can focus our staff’s attention on caring for our residents and finding them the very best furever families.

A-Rod and Butterball are so excited that it’s the weekend. In fact, they’re feeling pretty confident that their forever family will come adopt them today, just in time to spend the holidays in a cozy, comfy home!

But they’re not the only ones holding out hope of being adopted before Christmas is here. We have dozens of deserving, sweet, loving homeless pets waiting so patiently to meet their forever families. Is that family yours? Stop by the Adoption Center today to bring home your new best friend - we are open 11AM-5PM! 🙌

This small stack of newspaper is all we have left to line our kennels. With crates lining our hallways and 2-, 3-, and sometimes 4- to a kennel, we're running through newspaper like never before. If you have any newspaper at home or are able to ask friends or relatives to donate any extra they may have lying around, we would appreciate it so much. 💚

What constitutes a Christmas miracle? Maybe it’s getting that new phone you’ve been eyeing. Or having family in town that you haven’t seen in a while. Perhaps it’s just enjoying a few days off to relax and remember everything you have to be thankful for. But for some, it means a second chance at life.

They tried everything to find her a safe haven, with no luck. It’s hard enough to find rescues for healthy pets, let alone medically complex pets. But they knew we’d say yes. There was no question about it. She needed it. She was ours.

We named her Hope. She’s only 2 months old. And she’s suffering from a heart condition called Patent Ductus Arteriosus, more often referred to as PDA. This congenital heart defect occurs shortly after birth when the ductus arteriosus (a short bypass vessel) fails to close. Ultimately, this diverts essential blood and nutrients to the wrong locations in the body, causing fluid retention and higher workloads on the heart, which results in eventual heart failure.

Without surgery, Hope has only a 33% chance of making it to a year old. That’s not a gamble we’re willing to take. With prompt surgical repair, she’s expected to live a long, normal life.

Hope’s open-heart surgery will cost $8,000.

When no one else gave her a second chance, we knew she was worth it. And now, she needs a miracle. She needs you. We know we’ve asked so much from you this year. And every time, you’ve stepped up for us – for them. Please help us give Hope this second chance. She deserves a Christmas miracle.

🎁🏠 RIVA WANTS A HOME FOR THE PAWLIDAYS 🏠🎁

Riva’s only holiday wish this year is to find her forever family. At just over a year old, Riva is a social, loving, and incredibly smart lady. She enjoys talking, using scratching posts, being pet, and getting snuggles. Riva came to us from Asheville Humane Society during our Hurricane Helene transport and has spent the last 2 months being the most patient girl ever. Let’s make her Christmas wish come true and find her a forever home! If you think Riva could be a good fit for your family, stop by the Adoption Center today to meet her and get $20 off her adoption fee!

Blue, dubbed the ‘goodest of good boys’, is exactly that. At just 2 years young, Blue lives up to his Border Collie breed and loves nothing more than working his brain and keeping busy. On a recent PAG outing, he took his job as official greeter to anyone and everyone very seriously. He’s great with meeting new people and enjoys watching kids play. He’s one smart cookie and is proud to show off his many tricks, including ‘sit’, ‘lay’, ‘stay’, ‘up’ and the absolute cutest ‘high five’ you will ever see.

Blue is potty trained, crate trained, loves playing fetch and relaxing on the couch, and thrives on knowing where his people are at all times. He’d prefer to sleep in the bed next to you and would love to find a home with another dog to keep him entertained and teach him how to live the best life ever. Blue is an all around good boy and we know his perfect family is out there somewhere! Stop by the Adoption Center today to meet Blue and bring him home for the pawlidays!
