Friends of Animals is a 501c3 tax deductible non profit organization formed in November 2013. In our city/county, We do not have any type of animal shelter, animal control, no enforcement of animal related laws or any type of outlet for unwanted animals. We are the one and only organization making a difference in the lives of helpless dogs and cats in our community. Our mission is to care for and

re-home stray,abandoned animals in our community, along with educating the public on the importance of spay/neuter and proper pet care. We do not receive any funding from the government, the city or county or grants. We operate solely on donations from individuals and local businesses. All our animals receive the same care and love they would if they were our own pets. We strive to create a 'home like' atmosphere to help the animals feel comfortable and safe while we have them and make for a better transition into their forever home. FOR DONATIONS:

UPDATE: It is with such a heavy heart that I share this. Bless this boy. He has passed over the rainbow bridge. We are so sorry for this boy and his family.

🚨 Lost Dog Found 🚨

Does anybody recognize this dog? 🐾 He was found up on Ridgeville Road and is currently at the veterinary office due to some medical conditions.

If this is your dog or you have any information about his owners, please contact Moore County Friends of Animals at 931-434-7508.

We need to reunite him with his family as soon as possible. Please share to help spread the word! 🐶💙

Meet Mia! We are currently taking applications for her.

This sweet little girl weighs just 12 pounds and is around 2-3 years old. Mia was brought to us this week because her family could no longer care for her due to a divorce. Mia appears to be a chihuahua mix.

She’s a lovable lap dog who adores cuddles and being close to her humans. You may notice she’s missing one eye, but that doesn’t slow her down—she’s full of love and ready to find her forever home!

If you’re interested in giving this special needs sweetheart the loving home she deserves, please give us a call. Mia can’t wait to meet you!

📢 Important Announcement from Moore County Friends of Animals 🐾

Dear Community,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts and an urgent plea. Over the past weeks, we have been overwhelmed with phone calls about pets needing rehoming, abandoned animals, and dogs being found in heartbreaking circumstances. Most of the calls are not coming from Moore County but surrounding counties.

As a small, nonprofit rescue, we want to remind everyone that we are not a shelter and do not have government funding. We operate solely as a rescue, relying on limited resources, donations, and the dedication of our team and volunteers.

Currently, we are over capacity and doing everything in our power to help as many animals as possible. While we wish we could take in every animal in need, it’s simply not feasible at this time. Please know that this is not a decision we take lightly—we are committed to helping every life we can, but we need your understanding, patience, and compassion.

How You Can Help Us Help Them:

Consider fostering: Even short-term fostering can make a world of difference.

Adopt a pet: Open your home and heart to an animal in need.

Spread awareness: Share our posts to help us find loving homes for the animals in our care.
