As some of you are aware, our beloved town of Southbury (and surrounding towns) made global headlines on Sunday, August 18, 2024 due to a 1 in a 1000 year storm that sent mass flooding across a very small area of Connecticut. While most were unscathed in the storm, a handful of people severely impacted, and unfortunately our Sanctuary is one of them.
The most significant damage that we’re aware of at this time is to the bridge on the property. This bridge, which is the only means of access to the Sanctuary, has been completely washed out, cutting the Sanctuary off from the road.
For the sake of the animals we serve, we humbly request your help in repairing our Sanctuary that was so severely damaged in the historic storm and flood. With your help, we hope to continue to provide a safe and loving environment for our temporary and permanent furry residents.
The primary urgent repairs include:
Replacing our bridge, the only access to the Sanctuary, which was washed out (still currently stranded as of 8/25/24)
Making repairs to our animal enclosures, including repairs of damage sustained from the storm, and waterproofing.
Emergency Veterinary expenses resulting from the stress to the animals due to this disaster. (We almost lost a cat the day after the storm due to stress blocking)
We’re estimating over $60,000 in repairs. 😢
Please consider making a donation today to help us repair our sanctuary. Every little bit helps!
We are a non-profit organization and rely on donations to cover our operating costs. We simply cannot afford to make these repairs on our own.
We’ve set up for the Donations to go through Zeffy, as 100% of the proceeds make their way to the beneficiary, unlike Gofundme and others which take a percentage.
Thank you in advance. Your generosity and grace, supporting us in this time of need, will be truly appreciated. We, and our furry friends, depend on your help. With your support, we can keep Loyal Paws Rescue and Sanctuary alive for decades to come.
