The 10 month old cockapoo!

This boy takes paatttiieennncceeeee.
He’s still a pup and I don’t think he, at any point, stops moving/wiggling/licking etc
He’s such a sweet boy and learning grooming etiquette takes time 🖤

His family takes wonderful care of him so he is coming regularly to stay groomed and used to the process.

The third picture was when she first got here, mom left and she was glued to that door. I never drag/pull a dog to the shop from the store, sometimes this takes a little coaxing but that’s why I always give myself extra time on first visits.
As expected, it took a little bit to warm her up and earn enough trust to complete the groom with as little stress as possible, but we got there!

Shepherds are known for their strong bonds with their humans which can create separation anxiety. Moving slowly, speaking softly, and a calm, quiet environment are key to earning trust quickly, especially if the dog won’t respond to treats.

Today was Millie’s first groom!! 🖤🐾

This two year old heeler x aussie did amazingly!!
She was a total sweet heart from start to finish, she was unsure of the dryer so we tried the happy hoodie and that did it!

She left looking, feeling, and smelling great. Thank you for choosing Hund Haus, Elizabeth!

This handsome fella is Cooper.

Cooper can be spicy to groom, and that’s ok. His last groomer mentioned that he got nippy so his mom let me know and the heads up was supper appreciated.

A bite history doesn’t necessarily mean they can’t be groomed, they just need a little more… technique.
I have quite a few clients that their dogs have been “blacklisted” from other groomers, some of which have done a complete 180 and are great to groom now!

Coop got on the table fine, did pretty well for nails, and did great for his prebath blow out. After that he decided he was done at the groomers, that he would not be doing anything I asked, and if I asked anyway he was gonna bite me… so I needed some help from his mama to get him in the tub.
Once he realized she was on my side, and he was stuck getting a bath, it was pretty smooth sailing from there and this stunning shepherd (pictured pre groom) was able to get a full deshedding treatment.

I can’t even believe I’m about to say this

I saw the coolest matting EVER today
I know I know. But it was NEAT, just look at the first photo!
It was like it was in one of those 90s headbands that gave you little pony tails!

Meet Sawyer, the four month old pomapoo 🥹

Today was his first groom and he did so well!
He had some matting on his hind end so we had to go a little shorter than I had planned but he looks awfully handsome if you ask me! Mom was super happy too!

This spunky little fella can’t weigh more than 3lbs and was the perfect end to a lovely day here at Hund Haus!

Nala the Cavapoo 🥹

Nala is just 5 months old and here for her first groom.
First grooms can be challenging for dogs, especially for puppies, and on top of being young and nervous- will require being shaved.
Nala was definitely due for her first trim and did not like the clippers much at all.
We were able to use them on most of her body and back legs but when it came to anywhere near her head or chest she was terrified.
We did some desensitizing work and proceeded to do all the trimming around her head and chest with shears to keep her comfortable.

Grooming experiences should never be scary, or forced, especially with puppies.
Dogs are very quick learners! With some treats, praise, and patience we will work our way to a full shave.

Nala is looking and feeling great and still has that cute puppy look to her! 🖤 the second photo is post cut, little mama had some FUR 😂

Apollo and his very first BBL 🖤🐾

Today was this sweet boy’s first groom ever, and he did pretty well considering! Like most pups the dryer was very scary for him, so we did some desensitizing work with it and we will towel/air dry while playing for the rest of the groom.
Corgis shed a LOT so desensitizing him to the dryer now for future deshedding treatments will be huge for him!

Sweet Coco 🍫 🤎

This big ole Newfie mix came in for a groom this morning and boy did she get one!

She’s probably 10 pounds lighter. There’s a whole furnado in here 🌪️
Aside from giving me a big ole hug during the bath(we both ended up soaked) she was a perfect angel for everything.
2 bottles of deshed, one bottle of whitener, and 2 bottles of conditioner later…I wish you could feel her fur through the picture

She’s. So. Fluffy.

I wish I would’ve remembered a before picture 🥲 this was one heck of a transformation!
