A pupdate from Ziggy! (Bella & Dallas' first litter, fka William)

Eri sent some photos of Ziggy what a handsome boy he's become!

"Here is a Ziggy update. He is definitely a big boy and loves food but he’s also a great adventure companion and is a pro at traveling."

Thanks for the great photos! I love seeing the beautiful dogs our puppies have become! ❤️❤️❤️

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
You don't like pets? Be on your way
They share my home, my food, my space
This is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor,
They will alert you're at the door.
They may request a litte pat,
A simple 'NO' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say,
Just how is it you live this way?

They smell, they shed, they're in the way.
WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say.
They love me more than anyone.
My voice is like the rising sun,
They merely have to hear me say,
'C'mon, time to go and play."
Then tails wag and faces grin,
They bounce and hop and make a din,
They never say, 'No time for you,
They're always there, to GO and DO.

And if l'm sad, they're by my side.
And if I'm mad, they circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me.
They understand, they always see.

So, once again, I say to you,
'Come visit me,' but know this too..
My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
You don't like pets? Be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space
This is their home, this is their place.

UPDATE: Duke found a home with a nice older couple! 🥰

This sweet boy needs a new home. Please share or contact me!

Duke- available

This beautiful boy is Kate and Dallas' pup from November 2019, he'll turn 4 this November.

Due to unforseen circumstances he is looking for a new home. Currently he is located near Knoxville, TN.

- male, neutered, 42 lbs

From his current owner:
"He does water agility actually he's darn good at it! I haven't done it with him in a year but he loves the water.
He's a cuddle bug. He loves to sleep in your feet at night. He's a companion. If you let him he will take a shower with you.

He loves his stuffed animals and his balls. If you have a baby he's more than happy to clean up the mess. He gets along with all dogs and cats. He's been kenneled a lot at the dog daycare since I travel so much and he is such a well behaved dog that he's allowed to roam the facility with the faculty and other dogs.

He's still a typical Aussie and gets overly excited and squeaks, but I think that's because I'm gone so much anymore. Other wise he's calm and easy going 3 minutes after you're home."

Contact me (text or message is best) at 970-712-9318 if you'd love to have this awesome Aussie!

THIS is why we dock! Imagine instead of a sheep this dog is working a rather wild range cow. These dogs are fearless- yes, even Mini Aussies can and do work stock!

https://www.facebook.com/100044550434327/posts/831368395024834/?mibextid=Nif5oz

All of our pups have their tails docked by 3 days of age- no exceptions- & I do not release any of our babies to the public for reservations until they are 5 weeks old. We breed to the breed standard. An Aussie is a herding dog.... and the Aussie is known as a Loose Eye Herder....meaning that they use their body to control their stock~ a Border Collie is known as a Fixed Eye Herder -they use their eyes/gaze to control their stock. A border Collie, when working will tuck their tails down low & lots will even tuck them in & under between their hind legs. An Aussie, if they have a tail, will have it flying loud & proud in the air, which to a non-stock person, you would think would be no problem. BUT if you were to go into a herd of calves or cows, I can get them to move off with just a flick of my wrist.... they watch your movements that closely.... now try having a herding dog come into a pen who is wagging his tail in all directions.....
The breed standard was put in place in for a reason, the docking of the tail for herding reasons, the markings to be more dark than white to reduce chances of merle to merle breeding & whitehead miss-markings coming into play, the shape of the head in order to be able to reflect a kick from stock without really hurting them, their bite in order to get a good grip when heeling, right down to the shape of the foot as you need a good footed Aussie in order for them to be able to work stock in rough pastures day in & day out. Those standards were not just put into place on a whim, but in order for breeders to raise Aussies that would be able to function in the job that they were created for...
Breeders do NOT KNOW if a pup is going to be used for what it was originally bred for as I have had Aussie pups go to city people that have taken the time to take them out for herding courses as well.... I don't allow anyone to reserve any of our pups until they have matured to approx. 5 weeks of age as I NEED to see how a litter is maturing in order to correctly evaluate them. You CANNOT pick a newborn pup out & expect to know what it is going to mature like. We are stockmen & our Aussies are raised roaming out in our pastures on a daily basis & at times, when time allows, they will also be put to work helping with our cattle. Research your breed, KNOW what they were originally created for & why their breed standard is as it is and for the Love of God, QUIT trying to change it to fit your chosen lifestyle......There is a Breed Standard for a REASON!!!
PacketRanch~ Ghost Eye Aussies.....
Top photo shows how an Aussie works in "Loose Eyed" Style when they have a tail intact. An Aussie will use it's body in order to move their stock.
The bottom photo shows how a Border Collie works in a "Fixed Eyed" Style.... they lower their tail right down to the ground & some will also tuck it right down between their hind legs as they will slink up to their stock controlling their movement with their steady gaze...
Another thing that I forgot to mention, is that the Australian Shepherd was developed in the western plains for stockmen... out here we are plagued with burrs & stickers & if an Aussie has a tail, they will & do get tanged in the thick hair causing pain to the dog. I have had to work enough of them out of chest & belly hair... Ranchers are short on extra time as it is~ we regularly pull 16 hr work days, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year..... so yeah, having a docked tail is VERY beneficial to us for that reason as well...😉

This! 🤣
