We have not posted in quite a while. We recently had a supporter reach out about a 8 year old cat in their home that does not get along with their other two kitties. They are hoping to find a home where she can be an only cat. She is spayed.
Please reach out if you think you can give this sweet girl a home.

Polly is a cat we rescued from Newark 4 years ago, and has been in her forever home almost as long. She is not the most animal friendly kitty but is tolerating her temporary room mate.

We are posting this for anyone interested in Millie as we have noted Millie to be high energy, yet good with those who’d rather not have her around lol.

More of Millie 🙂

Please note this is a courtesy post for current owner.

Meet Millie! She is about 6 months old and found herself with a dear friend of the rescue. Unfortunately her prior owner needed to rehome her due to a living situation change and her current foster is allergic.

So far Millie has been tested with cats, dogs and kids and does well with all! She also is great in the car!

She does have a lot of puppy energy and will need someone is is willing to give her an outlet for that energy.

Millie is said to be a boxer mix, however we see a lot of terrier in this girl from her markings to energy level. If you are interested in Millie please send a PM. To make sure communication is streamlined comments will be turned off. Thanks!

Dear friends and family,

If you neeed assistance finding a new member for your family we are happy to help! Shelters have been inundated and some are even closing leaving animals in dire need of a home.

If you need assistance with medical care in order to keep your beloved family member, we are happy to help you find resources. There are shelters offering low cost spay and neuter in some areas to assist with cost in hopes more people can keep their furry friends out of the shelters.

If you’re having trouble finding one we are happy to help in the search.

Should you need assistance with feeding your furbestie, there are some shelters and rescues that offer food pantries.

We know how much you love or want to love a furbaby and if we can assist in keeping or finding one for your home, we are happy to do so!

We have had a very special request..

There is a friend of the rescue that needs to receive some medical treatment. However, they have a 15 year old male pug to care for as well.

He is hoping to find a foster for 30 to 45 days while he receives his treatment.

If anyone can open their hearts and homes for a temporary foster it would be greatly appreciated!!

COURTESY POST:

Meet Steele. This almost 1 year old pup is looking for a new home. He is currently with his family but due to unforeseen circumstances he needs a new landing. He is great with kids and dogs but never tested with cats or any other small animal.

To our followers, please take a look at your local shelter. Many of these dogs are the same pups we would get into rescue and the shelters are at their max.

If we can help you find a dog, puppy, cat or kitten please let us know! The shelters are so desperate right now they are even reducing adoption rates to $25 in some areas. This typically includes a dog being up to date on shots and spay/neuter done as well.

If you’re not ready to commit to a new addition maybe fostering is possible. By taking a shelter animal into foster you not only give them the start they need but also open room in the shelters or for rescues to take in more animals for a second chance.

Indie Anna update:

We have had quite a few inquiries asking about her. Unfortunately we were unable to secure transport for her.

However, more importantly she was able to find her new home through the efforts of the local humane society.

We are so happy for her and appreciate everyone’s effort to try and place her through our rescue!

It’s been a few months since we’ve posted updates on the horses. Rocky and Willow who came in scared and emaciated are doing amazing! Both have gained weight and learned that people can be kind.

Willow has been the greatest transformation. She was so thin we weren’t sure she was going to make it, she had rain rot, over grown hooves and seemed that any interactions with humans prior to us was abusive.

Now she is almost to where she should be weight wise, has an amazing coat, is learning the farrier won’t hurt her and follows me like an excited puppy. Our next steps are to begin training and see this sweet girl meet her potential 🙂

Update on Jesse:

She has been with her owner since she was a puppy and purchased from a “breeder”

Raised with kids and another dog

She is a pitt/bully mix

Her owners schedule has changed and allowed little time for this nugget so she found it to be in Jesses best interest to find a home where someone can spend more time with her.

She is up to date in vaccinations, deworming and spayed.

Once we meet her today we will be able to give more information on this little nugget.

This picture shows her petite size next to her “big brother”.

Here is half the process on just one hoof of one horse.

When we get asked why we aren’t taking as many dogs this is our answer…

The horses don’t have as many rescues, especially for the ones in dire need. We are not giving up on dogs and cats but we are shifting our focus. We are fortunate to have a barn and the space the horses need to heal. We are going to start fundraising for more land to house the “pasture pets” and give them a sanctuary. We hope we can count on your continued support 🙂

It has been some time since we posted an update. This one is on our horses. There is something to be said about being in the presence of a horse and seeing their transformation has been utterly amazing.

As always we will give you the good and the not so good.

All but one of our horses came in with a dire need to see the farrier. So our post today is to show you the transformation of how these majestic beauty’s come
in and some of the physical
transformation you can see. Today is all about the hooves…and nothing speaks later than pictures.

Just one of the horses that had work done:
This one has shoes removed and major trimming done.

Separation Anxiety:

As everyone begins to go back to work and life in general we are getting questions about separation anxiety and how to avoid it...

1. If you weren’t always, please start spending less time with your pet. Even if it’s in another room or give them some type of space of their own.

Do this slowly and gradually increase the time. For example: start with a half hour and end with the amount of time they will be left alone when you’re gone.

2. Find someone who can help you or a doggie day care. This can help with the transition if you are not able to gradually do it yourself.

3. Cats and dogs both can experience the separation. So if you notice your cat is not using the litterbox, or scratching things they normally wouldn’t, this all can be due to the stress of change.

4. Adding another pet to the household as a buddy can sometimes do more damage than good. Especially if you’re already experiencing some anxiety issues. The new pet can learn these behaviors and now you doubled the issues.

4. Please reach out. Our dedication to you and your animals doesn’t stop at the time of adoption. Every animal and owner experience is so different from the next and there isn’t a single blanket fix.
