Hi friends; long time no see!

Before my daughter came into this world, my life was deeply intertwined with dog rescue - Ruffles Rescue was my whole life. My days were filled with wagging tails, hopeful eyes, and the very hard but rewarding work of helping homeless dog find the homes they deserved. Rescue wasn’t just something I did—it was part of who I was.

When I became a mom, life changed in ways I couldn’t have imagined. The sleepless nights, the endless love, the way my heart seemed to grow three sizes overnight—it’s all been the most beautiful whirlwind. But with that, I had to make a heartbreaking decision: to pause my rescue work. My hands were full of bottles, blankets, and baby giggles, leaving little room for the constant demands of running a rescue.

Still, the pull hasn’t gone away. Every time I see a stray, every time I hear of a rescue in need, I feel that familiar ache. That urge to do more, to help, to be there—it’s still alive in me.

So, while my rescue doors are temporarily closed, I’ve found a new way to keep them cracked open. I’ve launched an online store, and with each purchase, a portion goes directly to helping other rescues, being able to purchase items in need for local shelters and dogs in need. It’s my way of staying connected to the cause I love so deeply, even as I embrace this new season of motherhood.

Today, we announce the adoption of Sir Beans! Beans went on a trial run, which has shown to be a great match. Beans is an acquired taste - as he is wound up like a top, with a little bit of anxiety. But who really doesn’t have anxiety in this economy. We get it and so does his new Mama! His Mama works from home; which is just what he needs. She has one other pug, who also has to wear Pe**ee Naughty boy pants - so that’s not a big deal. Beans now lives out in the country with no pesty neighbors - which is perfection as Beans will do his best to be apart of all social gatherings! Happy forever after, Beans. 🖤💕

On this phenomenal Friday, we would like to announce the adoption of Gunner! Many saw the heartbreaking photos of how this sweet boy came to us; with a collar embedded into this neck from being tied up since he was a little pup. While Gunner is still under a year old; the start of his life was not great. We are happy to announce that Gunner has been adopted by the most amazing women who was recommended to us by our veterinary team. She is knowledgeable in his breed, would go to the ends of the earth for her animals and we just know Gunner is the perfect match for her!

Today, Ruffles Rescue and our medical team, made the gut wrenching decision to es**rt Charlie, also known as Buzzbee, to the rainbow bridge. Despite Buzz being hospitalized nearly his whole time with our rescue, his health continued to decline and within the past week, it was on the fast track.
Buzz’s jaw was no longer bone like. It had become spongy, soft and his ability to eat was nearly nonexistent. Buzz most likely had a parathyroid cancer, that affected his calcium build up; and ultimately his quality of life.
Due to his needs of constant medical care in the last week and me not being able to provide the care due to the birth of my daughter; Companion Animal Medical Center and the sweetest veterinarian technician named Letty, stepped up and gave him the comfort of having a home in his final days. Letty would bring him to work with her daily and would bring him home, to love and care for him. Buzz was the sweetest man, who adored her child and would sleep in bed with them.
Today, Letty bought Buzz some chocolate milk, cupcakes and let’s not forget chocolate syrup. In tradition fashion, I brought him chicken nuggets but due to the condition of his jaw and his inability to eat, he stuck with the chocolate milk.
Today, Buzzbee was sent to the bridge being loved and cared for by his guardian angel, Letty. We are forever grateful for Letty opening her heart and home to Buzz, as this little man went to heaven knowing nothing but love and a gentle hand.
Like all Ruffles dogs, Buzz will be cremated and he will have his forever resting place with his guardian angel. Please keep Companion, Letty and our whole Ruffles army in your thoughts. Everyone who met Buzz, loved him. His soul was as kind as his eyes; and he will forever be a Ruffles boy.

This sweet boy is home in his foster home from having his neck lacerations repaired. He’s a young pup, roughly just under a year old. To think he’s never been inside a home before and has lived chained up to the extent where he had his collar and chain imbedded inches into his neck; is gut wrenching. Despite it all; he is still the sweetest boy who just wants human love. What a testament to his soul and just how resilient and loving dogs are.

Supporters 🖤 Graphic photos but our newest boy is undergoing surgery to fix his neck laceration. This cut on his neck is inches deep, horribly infected; all because someone decided to tie their dog up with a collar that was too small.
