Our Story
After becoming Greyhound Parents for the first time in 2000, I decided to create a coat for my new boy. It was pretty cool and Chandler liked it. Then I began donating them to different Greyhound Adoption/Rescue groups to help them with their fundraising efforts. I made a lot of those. I started a Pet-Sitting Service, 'IRISH SITTERS,' in North Oakland County, MI. It was (and still is...I gave it to my Niece to run in 2005) very successful. That income enabled me to make all the donated Greyhound coats. That is, until the attacks of 911 when our lives changed forever. People stopped traveling so much and the pet-sitting business dropped (it has come back since then), making it more difficult to donate so many things. I was prompted by my husband, Jim (I call him 'MAC') to start another business: sell the Greyhound coats! He had a lot of faith in me. More so than I did, but I took his advice and No N**e Hounds was born! It started out slowly because I had no Internet abilities and had no idea how to set up a web-based business. I had quite a few orders, but not enough. After getting 'hosed' by a very dishonest private web designer, I decided to investigate GoDaddy, com. They made it very easy for this IT-challenged seamstress. Now, Mac and I work together. He is my 'Office W***h,' logging orders, printing shipping labels, letting our own Greyhounds and Boston Terrier in and out so I can continue sewing!! We are able to donate items to every Greyhound Adoption/Rescue group who asks us, and there are quite a few! I have 'met' so many wonderful people since starting No N**e Hounds. Many are return clients who share their lives with very well dressed Greyhounds. I love what I do . I consider myself very fortunate to be able to combine my love of Greyhounds (all dogs, actually,) with my God-given, Mom-inspired talent.
